Is Hip-Hop the new White Culture?

It never occurred to me that Hip-Hop has been transformed into a genre more catered for white culture until my mentor brought it to my attention. Perhaps we should explore the attributes of Hip-Hop when it was still locked and sealed in the culture of African-Americans. First, Hip-Hop was a form of social activism. Songs such as B.D.P's "Stop the Violence," "Self Destruction" and Tupac's "Brenda's Got a Baby" clearly showed how Hip-Hop was a medium to address real time social issues concerning the plight of African-Americans.

What was even more rewarding for old school Hip-Hop fans was they often only needed to turn on the radio to access those kinds of songs. Groups like X-Clan, Public Enemy, The College Boyz or artists such as KRS-One, Nas, Kool Mo Dee all were signed to major deals. Furthermore, they had creative freedom to release songs that were up to speed with the social needs of the average African-American (not excluding other races by far).

But just as China invaded Tibet and purged out many of the ancient traditions of Buddhism, corporations have colonized Hip-Hop and now, Hip-Hop is far from its original square which began in the late 70's. Now, what do I mean when I say Hip-Hop is white culture or better yet, what was my mentor referring to?
In a nutshell, corporate America has changed the image and purpose of Hip-Hop.The final effect has produced a genre of music that is about making you dance; whereas, the quality of lyrics don't matter to the average listener. Good production and a catchy hook is the key to your secular Hip-Hop songs these days. In laymen terms, it has become "dumb you down music"-especially in the south.

Hip-Hop (amongst other things) is modern day's most succesful Minstrel Show and the Minstrel Show entertained who? Ahhh, yes white culture. Just a brief quote from Wikopedia brings the point home: "Minstrel shows lampooned black people as ignorant, lazy, buffoonish, superstitious, joyous, and musical." There's not enough space to discuss such a vast issue in one blog so we might need to discuss this topic again. Also, this is not to say that original Hip-Hop doesn't exist anymore. It is only to say that the kind of music that made Hip-Hop so successful is not what is defined as Hip-Hop anymore. Hip-Hop is T-Payne, Souljah Boy, Jeezy, and the likes. Artists that actually used Hip-Hop as a vessel to enlighten the mind or address social issues were or have been put on the back burner. It hits home because I'm a Hip-Hop artists and I can directly see how all this has influenced my Hip-Hop career. Yes, Hip-Hop is the new white culture. The question is what will we do about it? Marcus Garvey: The Moorish-American Perspective (Part II)

O.K. Stephens Bey: Why do you think so many people are knowledgeable about the works of Garvey, yet so many lack knowledge of the works of Noble Drew Ali?

Azeem Hopkins Bey:

We will not squander precious time explicating who knows more about whom, because that is irrelevant. However, we do acknowledge the fact that not all UNIA members and followers of Marcus Garvey entered the doors of the Moorish Science Temple of America. This is a fact of life; not all people are going to accept the truth which was brought by Prophet Noble Drew Ali. The circumstance is analogous to the state of affairs during the contemporary of John and Jesus. Although John the Baptist was sent to prepare the way for the coming of Jesus, not all disciples of John the Baptist accepted the teachings of Jesus, moreover some even denied the divinity and prophethood of Jesus. There exists a religious group known as “Mandaeans,” who practice “Mandaeism” (sometimes Mandaeanism). Mandaeism is practiced primarily in southern Iraq and the Iranian province of Khuzestan, as well as among a small diaspora population in Europe, Australia, and North America. Mandaeism is a monotheistic religion which honors Adam, Abel, Seth, Enosh, Noah, Shem, Aram, and especially John the Baptist as prophets. They describe Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad as false. Mandaeans consider John the Baptist to be God’s most honorable messenger. John the Baptist plays a large part in Mandaean writings. Mandaeans highly revere him and claim to have some remote connection with his original disciples. They believe John the Baptist was the last and greatest of the prophets. While Mandaeans agree that he baptized Jesus they reject the latter as a savior or prophet. They view John as the only true Messiah.

O.K. Stephens Bey: So are you alluding to the notion that many Asiatics misunderstood the true purpose of Marcus Garvey?

Azeem Hopkins Bey:
Yes, Over the years there has been great debate waged over whether or not Marcus Garvey and Prophet Noble Drew Ali were ever acquainted with one another. This great debate has been put to rest in light of new revealed information and research. There is concrete evidence that Marcus Garvey and Prophet Noble Drew Ali encountered one another. One particular incident was documented by the Chicago Defender Newspaper in 1927, while Marcus Garvey was in the Federal penitentiary in Atlanta

. This encounter reveals the fact that Marcus Garvey was not opposed to Prophet Noble Drew Ali’s divine program, contrarily he was please with the Holy Prophets program. The encounter has been documented by the Chicago Defender newspaper, November 19th 1927. The article reads as follows:

Noble Drew Ali Returns After Long Visit South

Noble Drew Ali, Prophet, Founder and head of the Moorish National Divine Movement, has returned to the city after an extended visit in the South. Prophet Ali motored from Chicago to Atlanta, Ga., where he spent a few hours visiting Marcus Garvey in the federal prison. Mr. Garvey was very much pleased with the splendid uplift work being done by the Moorish Divine Movement. The organization has launched a drive for more members.

The First Step of a True Moslem: Faith

How can man believe in anything lest he has faith that verifies the notion or idea? Indeed, it seems many people abuse the word faith; but without faith, one cannot make progress on their spiritual journey. Therefore, let us examine the true meaning of faith.

Though many people refer to faith as a word to express a belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence, this western definition is incorrect. Moreover, faith implies three things: Belief in Allah, trust in Allah, and an allegiance to God in action (submission). In this way, we can see how man, woman, and child themselves, become the material evidence of the truth of their God.

Sura 2:143: And thus We have made you an exalted nation that you may be the bearers of witness to the people and that the Messenger may be bearer of witness to you. And We did not make that which thou wouldst have to be the qiblah but that We might Distinguish him who follows the Messenger from him who turns back upon his heels. And it was indeed a hard test except for those whom Allah has guided. Nor was Allah going to make your faith to be FRUITLESS.

And so we can logically presume that our faith produces a construct of thoughts, desires and actions. The latter is the evidence of the former. And is this not why James exclaimed faith without deeds is dead (meaning no faith exists)?

In fact a Moslem should view faith as:

1. Faith is what man knows is truth.
2. Faith is the surety of the omnipotence of Allah and Man.
3. Faith is the certainty that man will reach deific life.
4. Faith is the first step on the path to righteousness.
5. Faith guides one in all of his actions.

In the Circle 7 we learn that men comprehend the inner life by what they see and do (Circle7- 4:17). Thus a Moslem can only grow in his walk by his words and deeds and as he tills the righteous soil of life, the mystery of deific life is made more plain to him; This rules out the notion of "blind faith." Abraham is a good example of a faithful man; His desire to follow Allah's commandments, even if it meant killing his own son, allowed him to see the omnipotence of his Ruler.

This interpretation is from a Moslem's point a view. Moslems do not believe in blind faith; moreover, they become the truth they subscribe to and transform into a living testimony of the one and true Supreme Architect.

The Moors Strike Back: Sharif A. Bey Clears the Record (Part 1)

Brother Sharif A. Bey is an expert on Moorish Jurisprudence and if you would like to know more about him, feel free to check a previous blog where his statements on a blogtalkradio interview was the centerpiece of discussion.

I was compelled to contact Brother Sharif, and he agreed to answer some questions for me. Again, thank you, Brother Bey, for elaborating on the MSTof A. I trust that many of those who are interested in the MSTof A will find this information useful as I formed the questions based on many questions I feel the public may have about this movement. Again, enjoy.

Sia Sobek:
Marcus Garvey referred to African-Americans as Negroes while Noble Drew Ali referred to them as Moorish-Americans. In my previous blog, I discussed discrepancies with "Moor" being used as a term to denote one's nationality. From a Moorish-American's perspective, how does the term Moorish-American more effective than the modern day term "African-American?"

Sharif Bey:

On pg. 109 of "Philosophies and Opinions of Marcus Garvey" he states "the negro needs a nationality." This quote underscores the fact that Garvey used the term "negro" as it was the common denoting term of the day, yet stressed the need for a national identifying name. His use of the term "negro" in the proper context is comparable to Prophet Drew Ali's use of the term "Asiatic;" both were describing our RACE, not national origin.

Drew Ali's use of the term "Moorish American" to most accurately describe us in the national/political context is apt, firstly because racial/ethnic categorization and national/political identification are two different things (although the two are often connected), secondly, as nationality determines one's political status, the last known political affiliation our people had prior to our loss of nationality and subsequent enslavement was with the Moroccan Empire. Our state of servitude came as a result of our loss of national identity, ie., ceasing to maintain our connection to our native political entity on these shores.

Conversely, the term "African-American" denotes connection to a continent and not a political body/nation/state, and therefore is unqualified as a signifier for national identity.

Sia Sobek:
Garvey seemed to be focused on uniting all "negroes" as he called us, yet Noble Drew Ali's members often perceive African-American's who call themselves "black" as being second class citizens solely based on their association with the term "black." Blacks under Ali's ideology, for example, have no nationality. The concept seems to be more divisive than unifying. Explain how Ali's message was for the total unification of the race, though it superficially can be perceived as divisive.

Sharif Bey:

In this era of time, civilized people all over the world are identified and recognized not by color, but by national descent, which is why dark-skinned, wooly-haired "negroid" peoples native to Mexico, Honduras, Brazil, etc. are not called "black", but Mexicans, Hondurans, Brazilians, respectively. Honoring our mothers and fathers by name and principle in this way (ie., recognizing and reclaiming our national descent and connection), for our people, is the very first step in "standing upright" as respectable civilized people and thereby becoming for the first time since our fall able to demand that respect from all other civilized people.

In the New Testament Gospels, Jesus' mission is ultimately to "spread the gospel" to the world, and yet the first part of his mission was to prepare a chosen nation to raise, then use that nation to "go out to all the world and preach the gospel..."

Likewise, as prophets, avatars, saviors, etc. are sent to nations to raise that especial nation, then commission that nation to be the example for the world, so it is with the program of Prophet Noble Drew Ali. As in days of old, the Prophet's mission is to make our nation (the fallen Asiatic sons and daughters of North America) the "avatar" for the Uniting of Asia/the unification of melanated peoples, by first making us like himself. He was sent to us so that we could be sent out to the world. This is what is referred to as "raising the dead." Incidentally, the word "black/negro" (derivative of the word 'necro'/'dead') in the history of humanity has ONLY been used to describe our people in our present condition (no nationality, or 'civiller mortuus'/dead in the eyes of the law). Since the year 2000 the world has been watching the sudden resurgence of the Moorish movement; they are witnesses to the Biblical Resurrection.

Marcus Garvey: The Moorish American's Perspective (Part 1)

It is my proud pleasure to share with you important information concerning Noble Drew Ali and Marcus Garvey from a Divine Minister of the Moorish Science Temple of America, Azeem Hopkins-Bey. Brother Bey has done great works for the temple and is a scholar of the teachings of Noble Drew Ali. In addition, he is an author of "What Your History Books Failed to Tell you," and is host of Know Thy Self , a blog talk radio show that is very informative on the plight of Asiatics all over the world.

Brother Bey is shining light on a previous blog of mine, "Why Marcus Garvey Wouldn't Support
the M.S.T. of A." His perspective and understanding is most needed as he is a minister for the movement. S. Sobek: Why do you think there is an inherent problem with people perceiving Marcus Garvey as the John the Baptist or Forerunner for Noble Drew Ali?

A.H. Bey:
There has been much controversy concerning the linkage of Marcus Garvey to Prophet Noble Drew Ali. This controversy has arisen due to an erroneous perception of the term “Harbinger” and “Forerunner.” For the sake of intelligibility, we sincerely offer the meaning to the aforementioned terms without nuance. Harbinger is defined as, “one that pioneers in or initiates major change; one that presages or foreshadows what is to come; precursor; forerunner.” The term “Forerunner” is defined as, “one that precedes and indicates the approach of another; a person of thing paving the way for the success or accomplishment of another.” Through understanding the definitions given, one would grasp the nature of Marcus Garvey’s mission. When Marcus Garvey stated, “We want a Nationality similar to that of the English, the French, the Italian, the German…we want Nationality and government…”, this message obviously was the forerunner to the message brought by Prophet Noble Drew Ali.

S. Sobek: If Marcus Garvey was the forerunner to Noble Drew Ali, why did he refer to his people as Negroes, why didn’t he say Asiatic or Moorish?
Ostensibly, his task/mission as forerunner was to prepare his people for the message brought by Prophet Noble Drew Ali; his responsibility was not to bring precisely the same message as Prophet Noble Drew Ali. If the people would have immediately accepted the teachings of Prophet Noble Drew Ali, there would not have been a need for a forerunner. We must keep in mind that Asiatics in America at that time were at least one generation removed from slavery (1865), and the language they spoke was the language of the negro. Consequently, the condition called for the necessity of Garvey to articulate implementing the vernacular of the so-called negro to clearly communicate the preparation rite bestowed upon them, which was nationalistic in nature.
S.Sobek: Noble Drew Ali imposed the Moorish-American flag, a red flag with a five pointed green star in the middle for Moorish-Americans; however, Garvey already established a red, black and green flag to represent "negroes." Why was it necessary for Ali to introduce an new flag?

A.H. Bey:
Quite simply, the red, black, and green flag is not a national flag whereas one can utilize to trace themselves back to their ancient forefathers. The red, black, and green was the banner of the UNIA, and it was primarily flown on Marcus Garvey’s fleet of ships known as the Black Star Line. The red, black, and the green banner introduced the thought, idea, and notion of national flag to the so-called negro. In fact, the banner was created in 1920 by the members of the UNIA in response to the enormously popular 1900 coon song “Every Race Has a Flag but the Coon,” which has been cited as one of the three coon songs that firmly established the term coon in the American vocabulary.

A 1921 report appearing in the Africa Times and Orient Review (published by Duse Muhammad Ali), for which Marcus Garvey previously worked, quoted him regarding the importance of the flag where it states, “Show me the race or the nation without a flag, and I will show you a race of people without any pride....” The red, black, and green was the forerunner to the red flag with a five pointed green star in the center, i.e. the Moorish flag which is over 10,000 years old.

Old Teachings, New Approach: Pastor Seth Pickens Shines His light (Part 1).

Old Teachings, New Approach is a new series I am introducing in my blog. Its purpose is to take a more esoteric approach to modern day religions, mainly Islam and Christianity. Each blog under this series will feature a guess blogger and it is my proud pleasure to reintroduce to you Seth Pickens.

For years, Seth Watson Pickens has served his community and world as a messenger of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Before being called as the seventh pastor of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Los Angeles, he served as Associate Pastor at Shiloh Church in Harlem, NY for five years.

Prior to his ordination, Rev. Pickens has had careers as a sales executive, an elementary school teacher, and as a stand up comedian. From 2001-2003, he served as a Volunteer with the United States Peace Corps in Haiti.

Upon returning from Haiti, Seth enrolled at Union Theological Seminary in New York City, earning a Master of Divinity in 2006 with an emphasis on Ecumenical Studies. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Morehouse College, where he was an honor student.

He is married to the former Isis Jones, and they are the proud parents of a son, Seth Isaiah, and a daughter, Zola Patrice. In his spare time, he loves to be with his family and friends, read, listen to music, exercise, and play basketball.

“The knowledge of the secrets of heaven has been given to you, but not to them. This is why I speak to them in parables, ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand’ (Matthew 13:11,13).

S.Sobek: Jesus clearly states that there is a deeper meaning to his words. He clearly asserts that his parables have an esoteric value that many will miss;however, his disciples were given the "secrets of heaven." As a senior pastor, do you think those who can understand the inner teachings of Jesus often lose interest in Christianity since many Christian leaders explain Jesus' teachings from face value?

Seth Pickens: It's true that some people are turned off by Christianity because some preachers and teachers aren't getting deep enough. But because Jesus' teachings are so deep, some people may simply not be able to grasp them right away, even if they try. Right before the scripture you quoted, Jesus gave a parable about spreading the message of the kingdom of God. My job is to spread it everywhere, and with that I need to realize that no matter how much I study and how loud I yell, some people will ignore it. Some people will come running enthusiastically at first but then not follow through. Some people understand intellectually, but get so concerned with the worries of life and wealth that they can't really apply it. But every now and then, someone hears it, gets it, and stays with it.

There are some leaders in Christianity and in every faith who only scratch the surface with their teachings. I'd like to believe I'm one of the good ones who makes God's Word relevant and plain so that anyone can digest it and grow as a result. But even if I do have a knack for teaching about the Spirit, I have to admit that even on my best day, I can only provide a very small glimpse of what the Bible calls the unsearchable riches of Christ. There's a reason why we can keep going back to the same scriptures and gathering new meanings and deeper insights, and that is because none of us have it completely figured out. At best, we can just hope to gradually shed more light on our shared situation.

Smiley v. Sharpton over President Obama and the Black Agenda

Why on earth would anyone expect the President to have a "black" agenda? Well, Sharpton, like me, doesn't feel that the President should be on front street making policies specifically for blacks, a term that I do NOT like to use.

There are issues that need to be addressed-there is no question about that. However, the movement or revolution of African-Americans has to start from the ground up. It's bad enough that conservatives consider President Obama "the most radical president ever." Mix that in with a "black agenda" presented to Congress and we could easily see his destiny paralleling with King, Kennedy and the likes. This is not to say that there aren't steps that President Obama could initiate that would assists African-Americans by far; I'm merely saying that African-Americans must raise themselves up by their own bootstrap instead of looking to some iconic figure to solve their problems.

And nothing can be more frustrating, concerning the issue, than two leaders in our community arguing about the issue at hand. Al Sharpton and Tavis Smiley bickered over the radio waves about the President needing to implement or not implement a "black" agenda. Take a listen for yourself and you should come up with the same conclusion I did: This is sad.

The Moors Aren't Sovereign? Really?

"Nationality cannot be bought unless you're in the slavery game." That quote was stated by Brother Sharif A. Bey, an expert on Moorish American Jurisprudence. "There is no such thing as a nation of sovereigns," was another profound quote that Brother Bey exclaimed on a blogtalkradio interview with Brother Azeem Hopkins Bey.

Brother Sharif Bey has just revealed some very pertinent information concerning the true meaning of sovereignty inside the context of the Moorish Science Temple of America, and I would like to think that other bodies of the M.S.T.of A at least listened and understood the wisdom in his words.

By in large, my experience with the M.S.T.of A dealt a lot with sovereignty. My former leadership exclaimed,"We are sovereign" quite frequently. "We are a wheel within a wheel," was another popular saying. Moreover, about a year and a half ago, I received information from a Supreme Grand Sheik in Chicago, who I will not disclose of specifically, who mentioned that he was researching ways (if possible) to legally remove Moors from the burden of having driver's licenses.

However, after the interview on BlogTalkRadio, which I encourage anyone of African descent to listen to, it is clear that this is not what Noble Drew Ali brought. Though Brother Sharif Bey admits that he played a role in contributing to this haphazard kind of thinking, he since has learned that this is NOT what Noble Drew Ali intended for his followers. If one would listen to the interview, he would know that C.M Bey and others used State Rights Advocate's ideologies to legitimize the Moors stance on being sovereign from the federal government; as mentioned by Sharif Bey, ironically, the states were those who directly subjected African-Americans to slavery in the first place.

If indeed Drew Ali was attempting to bring back the golden age of the Moors, his construct is perfect. The Moors in Spain discussed how when the Moors ruled Europe, they allowed other nationalities to follow their own beliefs without interference. They did not require Christians or Jews to become Muslims. So long as they observed the letter of the law, all was well.

Therefore, though we are not the rulers of the land in the present day, all nationalities have the right to develop their own economy and their own political representation; for instance, the Jews have 13 members in the Senate and need we discuss their economic stronghold? Their presence in the Senate and their economic power makes them a force that will be represented fairly well when Congress is in session. On the contrary, Roland Burris is the only African-American in the Senate at this present time.

I see now that Drew Ali was trying to unite our people under one economic circle, one political party and one God. Such a thing should be the inherent nature of all races, but our subjection to the oppression of slavery in the 18th and 19th century has African-American's behind a little bit. No excuse, merely just stating the facts.

I tip my hat off to Brother Hopkins and Sharif Bey for clearing up the record. Moorish Americans all over America should take heed.

The Reptilian Theory: Realer Than You Think?

If anyone doesn't know about David Icke, he's an English author and former BBC journalist that has a huge following. His niche is undoubtedly his allegations that there is a reptilian race amongst us.

"At the heart of his theories lies the idea that a secret group of reptilian humanoids called the Babylonian Brotherhood created and controls humanity, and that many prominent figures are reptilian, including George W. Bush, Queen Elizabeth II, Kris Kristofferson, and Boxcar Willie.^{"

Now, as much as I entertain conspiracy theories, I don't entertain this notion. Why? Honestly, there's just to much other solid research I could be doing than entertaining the notion. However, this blog addresses the issue that there is a T.V. show out now that conveys this very same idea. It's a throw back series brought back to life by ABC. The show deals with a group of "Visitors (i.e. V)" that come to earth in peace. They are leaps and bounds ahead of humans offering such features as healing centers and future diagnostic labs (they can diagnosed a future heart attack for instance).

The problem is beneath there human appearance, they are reptiles and they are plotting against human beings, though they say they come in peace. What does this represent? Are there a group of people that historically have said one thing with the intention to do another? What group of people do you think are like the V's? I can tell you that on the T.V. show, they are portrayed as Europeans. The leader, in fact, is a European female which could be symbolic of the bloodline resting on the female's side.

A snake can't be trusted, and it's hard to understand the ways of a snake. My Grandma probably felt that Europeans were snakes when they refused to service her newborn child; That should have been my older uncle ( they denied him medical service) but he died as an infant because they deemed themselves the superior race. My dad told me from that point, my Grandma vowed to never trust Europeans again.

The Indians had no idea that the Europeans didn't really want amalgamate with them. They sold it well however and when the Europeans were close enough, they put the smack down on the indigenous Americans.

Even in the movie Avatar, we saw how Europeans had concocted a plan to "blend" in with the indigenous people; The true purpose, however, was to destroy there sacred land so they could mine a valuable resource. Snakish enough for ya?

The fact is we (people of color) were never considered equal by Europeans. They indeed saw themselves as a superior race deeming everyone else inferior. We were the "savages" who were being tamed by the "Masters." When you watch V, you see this kind of philosophy getting thrown around immensely.

Hence a pure bred European (if such a thing exists these days) despises the notion of "mixing" with the the inferior bloodline. And is not modern racism often a representation of the reptilian concept? They smile in your face, but often do not deem you fit to stand next to them. It's like you're holding a snake, and then all of a sudden, it wraps around you and suffocates you. You never saw it coming.

So when you are watching V, Avatar, or any film that demonstrates secret agendas initiated by one breed or group of people, you are seeing a reptilian mindset on display (no matter what color the race is). It's just ironic that many Hollywood reptilian theories display Europeans as the reptiles. There are definitely some factual correlation points to these kinds of demonstrations, but to fully see it, you have to do your own research. I know it's a lot of snakes out there but "My Soul Knows Better."}

MK ULTRA: The CIA's Ace in the Hole

I know alot of you are naive; You would never think that our government would want to control the way we think, let alone brainwash us. However, history is the best teacher and it can be proven that the government,specifically the CIA, has, in the past, enacted plans to do the aforesaid actions.
Do you remember the Manchurian Candidate? The movie demonstrated MKULTRA, a covert plan that had 4 goals:

1) Mind and behaviour control
2)Advanced brainwashing and the remolding of minds and belief systems.
3)Truth drugs that would make other methods of interrogation obsolete.
4)Techniques for psychological warfare on a mass scale.

The plan itself started around the 1950's and was "supposedly" discontinued around the late 70's. It is also known that the Rockefellers funneled money into the project. The late Ted Kennedy said this concerning the project in 19777 (on the senate floor):

"The Deputy Director of the CIA revealed that over thirty universities and institutions were involved in an "extensive testing and experimentation" program which included covert drug tests on unwitting citizens "at all social levels, high and low, native Americans and foreign."

It's quite sad to think that people who are supposed to protect us would create sinister plans as such. For instance, LSD was given to mental patients, students and prisoners. Don't believe me? Well google George white + CIA, or just click here.

It has also been documented that MKULTRA was operating in the Veteran's Hospital in Menlo Park, San Francisco (1959). They were offering $100 dollars to patients who would take LSD and allow their reactions to be documented.

So, people that have conspiracy theories aren't always just paranoid. They often draw from facts in the past to predict or suspect what might happen in the future. Indeed, there has been many occurrences of The U.S. government "gone bad," so it's best to stay squared, and keep both eyes open.

Camel Walking off my last blog is something I found on You Tube; whereas, one individual breaks down some pretty dark symbology in Jay-Z's new "On to the Next One" video. Not much needs to be said here. I only require your undivided attention on the video below.

The questions you should ask is why are these signs here? Are they even related to the song? Of course not? So if they're not related to the song, they seemingly have intentionally been presented for a reason. What else are symbols and signs used for (to convey a message)? Illuminati: Fact or Fiction 2

If you google Illuminati hand symbols, an array of characters and signs are displayed. Yet, when you see many different people throwing the same signs, it's hard not to conceive that some kind of uniform message is being relayed.

Does this mean I think people like Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Jay-Z are members of the Illuminati? Yes and no. Are they the power players that sit with occult members and plot the world's demise? No, I don't see Jay-Z really sitting with the Rockefellers or other power players. However, I do see them as possibly being agents. In other words, they are acting or advertising for the principle (the occult members). What's in it for them? I would say money, fame and a small portion of power. It's amazing what people will do for that green paper. One should also note that Satan, as depicted in the Bible, was in charge of Music. What better package to advertise hey?

Hip-Hop: A Hobby or Profession?

At what point do you become detached to the very same thing you love? Mr. Sobek says that we all have become attached to various aspects in our lives. The effect of such attachments often leaves us confused. What am I talking about? In this case, I'm referring to hip-hop.

For instance, at what point do you stop chasing dreams and start focusing on reality? This is an invisible problem that I am beginning to notice in the hip-hop industry.

There are a disparate number of musicians who have spent a good portion of their lives trying to "make it" in the hip-hop industry. At the end of the night, all they have to show for their efforts is their music and a job (just over broke).

I have an associate in the industry who has his own studio, a nice house, and even has an independent album he just cut. The sharp contrast is that he is a pharmacist. He has recently joined a hip-hop band; moreover, he enjoys entertaining patrons and kicking his old school, organic brand of hip-hop. When he's not on stage, he's working twelve hour shifts at the local pharmacy, sleep or in the studio. However, it seems evident where his main focus is (on his profession, not his hobby).

On the contrary, we have plenty of hip-hop artists that have college degrees (i.e. money spent and owed), but spend more time enhancing their hip-hop careers than the career they spent 5 figures into. Do you think Sallie Mae cares about their insatiable desire to "blow up?"

Now, if you have no degree or viable profession (and no kids), you can afford to go full speed ahead in your quest to become financially successful in the industry. Such is not the case for me.

I graduate in May and told my music constituents a long time ago if nothing gave by the time I graduated, I would be putting all my chips in my Bachelors of Science in Legal Studies. In addition, I have aspirations to attend law school next year. Sure I'll have a studio, and sure I'll be banging out tracks in my spare time. The main point is this: It will be a hobby at best.

Some of you artists are spending tons of money, entering contest, rocking free shows, and have aspirations to "blow," yet in the end, it is no more than this: "An activity or interest pursued for pleasure or relaxation and not as a main occupation." You could try to say you're a professional musician, but if you have a 9-5, and you mainly rock free shows, you're not fooling me.

Bottom line is some of you have confused a hobby for a profession. Thus, an educated man with a 4 year degree could easily be found working an average job (not even in the field of his degree) but rocking the mic passionately at the local night club. You are not a celebrity my friend. You are attached to something which doesn't give back as much as you've put in. If this blog applies to you, the question is: What will you do now that someone has held you accountable? Don't forget, at the end of the night, Sallie Mae wants that cheese back, and no matter how dope your rhymes are, it will not fulfill your debt so far as you can see. In the words of KRS-One, "You must learn."

Baraka Obama: The First President to Love Hip-Hop?

"Obama has been a self-admitted Hip-Hop fan for years, and first met Jay-Z in 2008 as part of his goal to help emcees use their art to spark critical thinking and bridge generational rifts."

Oh really? Wow, not only is Barak of my kin, but he likes Hip-hop to? C'mon man, this is too cool. I have to quote the President who was a Senator at the time of this statement:

"But also something that I'm really concerned about is they're always talking about material things about how I can get something; more money, more cars.”

You got to love it hey? That means me and Obama agree on hip-hop; To bad you can't draw policies on hip-hop artists. That would be an invasion of creative expression and as much as it's needed, in the end, it wouldn't make sense. However, it's encouraging to know that our President is at least concerned about the depraved state of hip-hop. After all, the majority of mainstream hip-hop is poison to the minds of the youth. State of Emergency: Today's R&B

There's something about my oldest son posting on Facebook the song from Trey Songz-"I Invented Sex," that rubbed me the wrong way. Couple that with a couple of pics on his profile, in which he has no shirt on, and you clearly have a 13 year old whose Pandora's Box is obviously open ("I get girls" is quoted in his profile).

The truth of the matter is everything we take in has outputs, and with our current middle schoolers and high schoolers listening to artists such as The Dream, Pleasure P, R-Kelly, and T-Payne...it should make you worry about our future, since these will be our future leaders when we become seniors (I'm a late 70's baby). True, I agree with Solomon, "There is nothing new under the sun," but it definitely seems that in the 21st century, today's R&B has intensified with the overall themes of sex, alcohol and materialism.

In reflecting on my younger days, I remember listening to songs such as "Freak Me" by Silk or "Uh Ah" by Boyz to Men. Indeed we had our share of lusty music. However, the equilibrium when we were in our youth seemed more balanced. Not every artist in R&B was known for their "Cutting" songs. Moreover, on the other side of the spectrum were songs that discussed genuine love such as S.W.V's "Weak" or "When Will I See You Smile Again" by B.B.D and one of my favorites, "Forever My Lady" by Jodeci.

Sex has become such a common topic that, perhaps, today's 13 year old feels they should be entitled to get a piece of the action. In contrast, when I was 13, I was more interested in back-yard balling and video games than inventing sex with the girl in the back row of my 8th grade class. True, I was attracted to women, but it was several years later when I finally got a "piece" of the action.

I'll never forget when my parents found my box of tapes (how old school is that). It included artists such as DJ. Quick, Luke and the 2 Live Crew, Digital Underground (Sex Packets) Too Short, K-Dee (Whose album was called "Ass, Gas, or Cash"), and other artist that reduced women to sex objects. My dad politely confiscated the whole box; I never saw those tapes again. Okay-I digress.

My main point is I know for sure that there are plenty of 13 year olds ready to get some, and the parents that run that household will be the prime factor in determining whether they will be successful or not. We live in an era where parents can no longer trust the radio stations. Why? Because it has become saturated with songs that encourage sex, drugs, and whatever other spoof that fits in that box. My wife's friend discovered her son "sexting." What's sadder is her son is only nine years old.

So yes, R&B is in a state of emergency...mainly because sex sells even more than it did 20 years ago. If that's a sign of the times, surely it can't be a good thing.

Allah Says: Come to Common Terms

I'm not sure if you heard about the conflict of Muslims and Christians in Malaysia. In short, a government band on Christians using the word Allah was lifted, allowing them to do so. For specifics, click here. Some Muslims (if we can even call them that) didn't take it lightly at all. Consequently, three Christian Churches were firebombed.

Now, if one were to search the Quran, and let the holy words within judge the aforesaid circumstance, they would clearly come across this:
Qur'an 3:64-71 Surah Ale-'Imran (The Family of 'Imran)
Say: "O people of the Book (a reference to Christians-my emphasis)! come to common terms as between us and you: that we worship none but Allah; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not from among ourselves Lords and patrons other than Allah."

Perhaps the people that bombed the churches aren't Muslims at all, similar to the K.K.K. who claims to be Christians (but are far from it). The fact is, it's a step in unity and Islam is a religion that unites Divine light to the utmost. I bear witness to that. Lastly, check out Harun Yahya, a renown Islamic scholar. I myself harbored mixed emotions about the matter until I stumbled across his sight. It was an opportunity for me to be educated and I didn't pass it up. Salaam to all.

Samsara: Steps in the Liberation of Your Soul

I didn't have enough courage this year to set a New Year's resolution. But one thing is for sure, I'm definitely tired of spinning my wheels. Isn't that why we make resolutions anyway? Indeed, resolutions are usually created due to some level of suffering we have produced via the vessel of bad habits. Maybe it's smoking or drinking for you. Some could be bad spending habits, or the usage of profanity. Either way, whatever habit it might be, you want to be "released" from it because it does not pack the punch you thought it had. Better put, maybe it does but you know that it has disadvantages that leads to your own insecurities and sufferings.

Why does your inner being have urges to shed these mishaps? Perhaps it is because the soul is inherently perfect. It is indeed a reflection of the eternal. And with that comes complete perfection and a direct connection to your creator, no matter what you choose to call Him. However, in your worldly existence, you see not the soul. Moreover, you see everything that is temporary. The day comes and then it departs by nightfall. The mother who birthed you will one day be gone. The money in your pocket is burning so hot that it is sure to leave you soon. Today you will experience one day and when you wake up, that day will be gone (for no day is exactly the same).

And thus we are caught in what Buddha would call-samsara. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not is insignificant for the purpose of this blog...but indeed people often relate to the inherent notion of this buddhist term.

Samsara literally means "wandering-on." Many people think of it as the Buddhist name for the place where we currently live — the place we leave when we go to nibbana. But in the early Buddhist texts, it's the answer, not to the question, "Where are we?" but to the question, "What are we doing?" Instead of a place, it's a process: the tendency to keep creating worlds and then moving into them. As one world falls apart, you create another one and go there. At the same time, you bump into other people who are creating their own worlds, too.

According to the ancient sages, this process continues until we are released or liberated from all of our iniquities. Does that mean we must reach perfection? The answer is yes...Even Jesus said:

You must, therefore, be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect." --Matt. 5:48

And if you subscribe to God making us in the image of Himself...then perfection is the final frontier.

Indeed, it is intimidating to consider the notion of being perfect when one looks at the condition of the human race. After all, pitfalls come more often than opportunities for enlightenment, and by in large, the ways of this world do not match the perfect vibration of the divine primordial spirit. Our only option is to dive in ourselves and listen to the soul within us. Does it not guide us? But then, how often do we ignore it's voice?

Use every moment this year to shape, build and add on to your perfect foundation. The more you chisel away at the useless thoughts and actions of your being...you will find that you will get closer and closer to who you really are.

If you're like me...you're fed up and only radical changes can sway the momentum of actuating the brilliance in you.

To Celebrate or Not: How the Race Card Altered December 25th.

I'm not here to spoil anyone's Christmas holiday by far. However, researching the history behind Christmas has some fascinating findings. For one, Jesus wasn't the first religious figure head to have His birthday celebrated on December 25th. Horus (Isis' son from Egyptian Mythology) and Mithras (A Roman Pagan Sun God) also had their birthdays celebrated on December 25th (to name a couple). Again, these religious figureheads came before Jesus.

So what gives? What makes this date so popular? Perhaps because the underlying theme of Christmas has always been the winter solstice. Ancient Northern Europeans (and some till this day) refers to this time as "Yule,"i.e., Yule Tide, etc. Yule means "wheel" and that same wheel is a direct reference to the sun, not the "Son."

The rabbit hole gets deeper. Your Christmas tree that you have was actually an altar for the Druids in ancient days (ornaments now could be perceived as "offerings" to the tree/altar). The trees also were symbolic, inherently speaking, since it gave the Druids the hope that their crops would eventually return after the winter passed.

Now, since many pagans already celebrated their gods on the same day, Pope Julian found it politically necessary and easier to make the Christians celebrate their god on the same day. This is why all historical research shows that Jesus, more than likely, was not born in the winter. In fact, the books in my library point to either the fall or spring.

What am I getting at? Is it okay for a European, or white man to celebrate Kwanza? I mean really ladies and gentleman? If you were to step up in George Bush's estate to find that they were in the middle of celebrating Kwanza (Picture George Bush in African attire)-would that be okay? Would it come across as normal or abnormal, logical or illogical?

If you side with the latter, then what makes you think it's okay for African-Americans to celebrate a holiday that is inherently European (to the core...do your own research)? I'm just saying!

Now, there is nothing wrong with the spirit of peace, love and good will to all men. It's nothing wrong with the spirit of giving. But again, unless you subscribe to it being okay for Bush and his family doing it big for Kwanza, why should African-Americans take on all the ancient traditions and customs of Europeans. To a degree, shouldn't we do something that aligns us with our own customs and traditions?

Maybe I'm biased. Maybe since I only remember a Christmas tree in my house once while I was growing up and the fact that we normally celebrated Kwanza;maybe, my attachment to Christmas isn't as strong as yours. However, atleast consider that you might be automatically embracing another culture's ancient belief system (praising there former gods) by being all in for Christmas. If nothing else, it's something to think about.

Why Marcus Garvey Wouldn't Support the M.S.T.of A (Part 2)

The push for Asiatics in America to have a nationality is most necessary. However, just what nationality would be appropriate is a perplexing philosophical conversation. In all respect, I admired Drew Ali's attempt to give Asiatics a nationality. However, it proved futile and this is nothing less than a fact. Only the smallest percentage of Asiatics refer to themselves as "Moorish-Americans" and I believe the cause of that is because the term simply does not fit the match.

The African scholar, Wayne B. Chandler, states that the term Moor can be traced to 46 B.C. Herein, we have a Roman army that entered West Africa referring to black Africans they encountered as Maures from the Greek adjective "mauros," which simply meant dark or black. Meanwhile, the Greeks who approached east Africa called the black Africans they encountered Ethiops. Ethiop is inherently Greek and stems from the words aithein {to burn} and ops {face}, i.e. burnt face. However, these are simply terms that ancient Europeans labeled Africans, and they simply were NOT nationalities. It should be mentioned that there were all kinds of different ethnic groups of Africans stemming from different places. They merely were adjectives that described the physical nature of the humans they saw {black or dark skinned}.

"The broad use of the term Moor begs the question: Who were the real Moors? Or as Chancellor Williams queried with a recognizable tinge of frustration, "Now, again, just who were the Moors?" He continues, " the original Moors, like the original Egyptians, were black Africans [emphasis added]. As amalgamation became more and more widespread, only the Berbers, Arabs and coloureds in the Moroccan territories were called Moors." -Source- African Presence in Early Europe

If one reads between the aforesaid lines, he would learn that the term Moor was NEVER a nationality. It was given to us by a foreign race for lack of a better classification. Herein lies the problem in Moor being used as the modern day nationality for displaced Africans in America.

Now to place it even more clear cut, lets use an example. An Irish-American can trace himself back to Ireland. An Italian can trace his bloodline directly to Italy. In contrast, can African-Americans trace their lineage to Morocco? By in large, the answer is no. A nationality connects a citizen of a nation and the nation itself, customarily involving allegiance by the citizen and protection by the state. With this comes things such as a common language, traditions, religion, etc. Bluntly put, the term Moorish-American does not embody those principles.

From the M.S.T of A's Koran Questionaire: "Why are we Moorish Americans?" "Because we are descendants of Moroccans and born in America." However, today's Asiatics don't necessarily come from descendants of Moroccans, especially when history notes that there were many tribes originating from many different parts of Africa when the term Moor was coined. In other words, there were Africans that lived in Western Africa who weren't necessarily Moroccans then.

Now if you want to be a Moorish-American, be that. But it strikes me odd that the top African scholars of our time never confirmed Drew Ali's notion or idea. This is not to say the term is a bad thing, but it indeed divides Asiatics even more than we already are. To that degree, it's no different than a West Indian Asiatic shunning blacks in America. It is no different than an African from Africa looking down on a African American. This is real talk, and as my previous blog mentioned, Garvey would have despised this notion. He mission was to inform us that AFRICA is our birthplace and ALL of us should be united.

Again, this is not to offend Moors, but man knows not by being told, and at some point, you have to ask yourself why the M.S.T.of A often is associated with more drama and conflict than anything else. National membership is low in all branches and branches bicker with each other so much, you often wonder will they simply fall off the tree. This is factual, coming from yours truly because like Dr. Dre said, I've been there, done that.

Learn the history of the Moors, see the potential in what we are capable of and apply that to the now. But, in my opinion, the term Moorish-American holds know weight at all. Based on the number of Moorish-Americans in America, it looks like I'm not the only one who feels that way.

Why Marcus Garvey Wouldn't Support the M.S.T.A? (Part 1)

*This blog is not intended to create confusion amongst members of the M.S.T.of A nor give the M.S.T.of A, a bad reputation. This blog's purpose is to invoke critical thinking and upstanding interpersonal relations between all who might comment or take something away from the knowledge concealed. I encourage all Moors to comment and defend your square, as this is merely my opinion---and as you know, everybody has one.

Question: If Marcus Garvey was the "John the Baptist," or the forerunner of the so called prophet Noble Drew Ali (founder of the Moorish Science Temple of America), why do they have conflicting messages? Show me were John the Baptist said something contrary to what Jesus brought. And after all, I didn't choose those words, Noble Drew Ali did. In chapter 48 of the Circle 7 Koran, we read:

"In these modern days there came a forerunner of Jesus, who was divinely prepared by the great God-Allah and his name is Marcus Garvey, who did teach and warn the nations of the earth to prepare to meet the coming Prophet..."

BUT, while reading"Selected Writings and Speeches of Marcus Garvey," something struck me as odd.

In "The Philosophy and Opinions of Marcus Garvey Volume 2 (speech entitled Who and What is a Negro)," Garvey speaks against the very philosophy that Drew Ali brought to Asiatics. More specifically, I believe that Garvey would refute the term "Moorish American." Allow me to present some evidence from Garvey himself:

"If we were Negroes when we were down under the heel of oppression then we will be Negroes when we are up and liberated from such thralldom." -Marcus Garvey

In short, in this speech, Garvey notes that European scholars often isolate groups of blacks [Africans] because of some accomplishment they have achieved and classify them as non-negro. On the flip side, if Drew Ali was the prophet all our people had hoped for, a nationality better than "Moorish-American" should have been revealed. The term in itself is simply not accurate, and on it's face, Ali did a poor job of explaining the details of why we are Moorish Americans. Moreover, it is divisive. When people become members of the M.S.T. of A, they are no longer black. Ali taught Asiatics that black means death (he also taught that white means God). Subsequently, you have "Moors" who attempt to convert "blacks" to Moorish Americans. See how confusing this gets?

"Imagine a dark colored man in the middle of Africa being anything else but a negro." -Marcus Garvey

Undoubtedly, the Moors would have to admit that the forerunner sought to unite ALL Asiatics, and sought to include no division thereof. However, when Drew Ali appeared, he brought MORE confusion to the condition of the black man, women and child, in the sense of nationality.

" That is why the nationality of the Moors was taken away from them in 1774 and the word negro, black and colored, was given to the Asiatics of America who were of Moorish descent, because they honored not the principles of their mother and father, and strayed after the gods of Europe of whom they knew nothing. (Circle 7 42:17)"

But is the term Moor a nationality? In part two, I will explore the term Moor (and prove that the term is extremely ambiguos), and prove it is not a concise enough word to be classified as a competent nationality.

If It Were My World...

I play Civilization, a strategy game where the goal is to build an empire, and I enjoy playing it very much. In the game I'm currently playing, I am overseeing an Ethiopian empire. The thing I like about Civilization is you get to rewrite history, as it has real leaders, real technology and so forth.

Anyway, my goal in this game is to AVOID war at all costs. I have quite an empire right now, and there is a small portion of the map owned by Indians. It would be nothing for me to make a military campaign to conquer their territory. However, at the end of the night, it's more rewarding to trade with them and allow them to retain their land, traditions, customs, etc.

My point is though American History did the opposite of how I am playing the game (we know the story of the "Native Americans"), I can relate to the struggles that a race goes through when they are conquered or taken away from their land. If we are to truly let love save the day, then we submit to universal principles that hinges off:

"That which you hate to be done to you, do not do to another".
"Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. "

If we could pound this theory into our mind, we would live in an almost perfect world. The Brotherhood and Sisterhood of all citizens of the globe would be united. Prisons would not be infested with criminals. Love would be the King or Savior of the day (which is the inherent nature of all upstanding religions anyway).

I want to encourage you and let you know that it starts with me. It starts with you. Really sit and think about the power one has when he lives by the Golden Rule. Look in the nooks and crannies of your life and see where you can apply the Golden Rule more. Then, sit back and watch the universe become your biggest ally in uplifting your sisters and brothers. Don't believe me? Try it out. I bet you I'm right.

It is true that my brother Leaf told me that Caster Semenya looked like Ron Artest. This was before I saw a visual of her. When I finally saw Ms. Flash, I had to admit that she did look like a man. As a lot of you know, rumors surfaced stating that test would be conducted to verify her sex. Well, the test were rendered and Caster Semenya has been classified as having both male and female sexual organs (hermaphrodite).

Ohh, what a potential explosive situation this could be! If they stop her from running or take her title , surely the race card will be pulled out as well as human rights . The International Olympic Committee states that her higher level of testosterone is not the main concern. Moreover, if she's able to use the testosterone may be a determining factor in whether she will possibly be stripped of her title.

Taking the rabbit whole deeper, (I'm a legal student...I'll make my education work for me on this blog-lol) the question becomes if she can utilize her testosterone while running, does it give her an unfair advantage over other female racers? Yes, it's true that she was raised as a female. But if the findings show that she is able to use her testosterone, is it unfair to other female racers who do not have the same ability? There, perhaps, will be your first legal issue.

From a human rights perspective comes our second legal issue? Because she was given portions of male and female genitalia, the parents have autonomy to choose what sex the child will live their life as. I mean last time I checked they don't have the male and female stall in public restrooms. Therefore, one cannot say that her living her life as a female is wrong. It's a choice her parents made in good faith and she had no choice in the matter. So then, will her inalienable right to live as a women override the fact that she might have biological/physiological advantages over her competitors?

And yes, it seems deplorable to strip her of her crown or even not strip her of her crown but force her to run as a male. In fact, if you were her, I'm sure you would feel humiliated. At anyrate, there best bet is to let her be. Otherwise, you'll have a legal case brewing that the whole world will be watching. South Africa will be pissed, African's everywhere will be pissed, other hermaphrodite's will be pissed, and Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton might make a buck or two. Funny but it's probably true.

Bikini or Burkini v. East Meets West

Did you here about the Muslim women in France who wore a burkini and was subsequently banned from the pool she swam at? I think this is another sign of the times;whereas, a woman who chose the road less traveled in honor of her religion and purity was actually disciplined. After further researching the matter, there were health laws in place that banded anyone from being fully dressed in the swimming pool. But wait, it gets deeper.

Ohhh, the world we live in. Why would lawmakers say that women, who have the free will to say yea or nae to wearing such apparel, are being imprisoned (apparently by there own religion)?

First, lets clear it up. These instruction came from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In chapter 24 of the Holy Koran, it states, "And say to the believing women that they lower their gaze and restrain their sexual passions and do not display their adornment except what appears thereof. And let them wear head -coverings over their bosoms."

Now, I know this is contrary to everything that the western world stands on. I guess what I'm saying is whats wrong with piety, what's wrong with purity?

(In America)it's hell when you go to church and are tempted because some women seems to think church is a continuation of the night before, in which they were dressed in nearly similar apparel at the local night club (shaking it like a salt shaker).

Now, while these ignorant lawmakers are asserting these clothes are making women prisoners of their own pious actions, other Western European women are walking around in a two piece bikini. Men are staring, lusting and drooling it up. Meanwhile, the creator sees all that we do and keeps a flawless account of all our actions.

It would seem to me that people should honor women that don't want men staring at their bodies. After all, the women becomes an object of lust and the man falls into sin. In my spiritual walk, I could actually dig "burkinis" in America. I'm not perfect and burkinis makes it easier for men whose conscious are actually seared after they lust after a women. Obviously, this is foreign concept in a western world. What else is new?

Why America Will Always Be Racially Torn

I can never forget reading an excerpt from Marcus Garvey. He said (paraphrasing) that the white man does not want "negroes" mixing with his race. Essentially, he asserted that if whites did not give Africans there own land, government and educational system, this country would forever be rationally torn. For what it's worth, this is why Garvey, as extreme as it may sound, liked the Klu Klux Klan. The one thing they had in common is they did not agree with both races integrating. Skipping forward to 2009, Garvey was right on the money with his prediction.

Racism in America is ramped these days and Obama becoming president only has exacerbated the situation. The truth is, alot of whites still view themselves as the superior race. How many rednecks across America were pissed when Obama got elected? Moreover, how many Republicans and Conservatives? Don't even try to guess that number. Why were they pissed? Because many of them inherently feel that a "black" man has no place in the oval office. Point Blank, Period. Why do they feel this way? Well, because they feel like this is their country.

I heard a old white lady in a town hall meeting cry out in desperation, "I don't know what this country has become, but I want my country back." I mean dang grandma, is Barak holding the U.S. for ransom?

Where am I going with this? Well, because of racist ideals that I believe many whites have, American will always be torn racially. Lincoln made an attempt to send us back. It didn't work, but he was on to something in his supreme ignorance (search my blog and learn why I despise Abe). And truth be told, there isn't enough integration in the world that can cure the ignorant mindset that many whites hold deep in the bosom of their heart.

Okay, so some might say Sia, this is Jim Crow talk. Times have changed. A black man is President for God's sake-isn't that enough? I would respond no. Don't try to use that as your excuse. But please believe now whites have the ultimate excuse to bail America out of the racist country it is (Barak being elected). Oh yes yall, my soul knows better.

My children go to schools everyday that promote whites being the founder of nearly everything. This is merely lies, but when you think you are the superior race, you have to sell it. It's not enough just to say it. And lets face it, the Indians were considered to be savages, just as they viewed us.

Now, let me clear it up. I know good white people. My neighbors for instance are great people. I mean, truly good hearted people, so I don't support the notion that all white people are bad. I think that kind of mentality is just as dangerous as the white's racist views towards blacks.

The only thing that can fix America's racist tendencies is love and a firm spirit of equality in action, which all humans possess the will to invoke. But usually, racist whites let their own ego prohibit these innate qualities from rising to their conscious. Because of this, a dirty game of mental slavery has been induced by the elect few that still enjoy watching the struggle of the black man, woman and child. They manipulate the economy, our (America) educational and our justice system to make sure that those who have been blessed with melanin encounter all the pot holes in life.

Jungle Fever Revisited: Where are the Brothers at?

I wanted to blog tonight, so I said what the heck-let's do a spin off my last blog about jungle fever. I stumbled across a clip on YouTube that had some pretty interesting takes on interracial dating (black and white). And honestly, I like the sista to the right in this clip. As she put it firmly, "We (black women) don't have enough black men for us to go around."

Well honestly folks, she's right. I don't want to bog you down with the statistics. I don't want to talk about the disparate treatment America's criminal justice system hands down to the Asiatic male. Couple that with men who are already in relationships and homosexuals, and it's easily understandable why it's difficult for a sista to find a brotha these days.

Now, whats interesting is when the host asks the European women why she prefers blacks, she exclaims, "it's the shade of their skin." Ahhhhhh, we were just talking about this on Thursday weren't we. It's the good ole don't eat that one cookie in the cookie jar kind of set up! Man it's an undeniable taboo and atleast this women was honest enough to admit it. I bet as soon as she got out her parent's house, her dating radar immediately fixed on the dark shaded brothers.

I personally feel it's easier to acquire a white women. I've dealt with several in my lifetime. They all were cool, crazy submissive, and all but one treated me like I was a king that just touched down to the states. More specifically, I dated a white women in 98 and remembered thinking, "This is to easy." I tell ya, I had a free pass on back massages and money, to name a few of the benefits I can mention. Essentially, I was culture shocked.

But brothers should listen up and take heed. Sistas are really getting desperate right now. I talked to my cubicle buddy a few weeks ago about this very same subject. She agreed with the sister on the right and she's at a ripe age of 25 years old. Yeah (paraphrasing her), there are brothers out their, but what noble women wants a man with his pants hanging on his knees? Couple that with his cheezy pick up line, and any good women would have already rejected him before he got halfway into his spill.

There are a lot of good sistas available fellas, more than you can imagine. But most of them are waiting on you to get your game tight. Maybe you need new role models? I mean, honestly guys, maybe Lil Wayne isn't the best person to look up to in terms of macking to a women. After all, he wishes he could "f___" every girl in the world. Oh yeah, same for Drake to.

As a race, we need a generation of brothers to rise up in character and recognize a queen when they see one. We need brothas who aren't afraid to rescue their black queen from the dumb, deaf and blindness that this western society subjects us to. We need brothers to lead sistas spiritually and economically. We need sharp, educated brothers who are willing to take on a single mother and her kids.

Now, when those brothers start popping up, and they marry a white women-how does it help the plight of the African-American race or culture? Truth of the matter is, it doesn't. Okay, I'm done with my digression.

This has been boiling long enough on the hip-hop radar that Sia must, like everyone else in the blogosphere, throw in his two cents. Now, as it has been seen all through the net, Kanye has developed close ties with Amber Rose, a European model.

Sure, Sia can take you back to the Jim Crow days when our ancestors were hung for merely looking at white women. Why? Because thats just how much European males hated the concept of Africans and Europeans mating, let alone producing children. In fact, states created laws where consensual sex between a "white" women and a "black" male was considered rape by law. Don't believe these absurd kinds of laws existed check this-Exhibit A:

But back to Kanye. I know in Hollywood, one of the symbols of success for a African brother is to acquire that pretty European women on his arm. Lets face it-it's true, or atleast many people feel as such. And guess what? Kanye did just that. But, and it's a big but-I'm going to pardon Mr. West and it has nothing to do with the incredibly dope beats he produces. Here are my reasons:

1) Kanye lost two of the most important women to him in a relatively short amount of time: His mom died and His girlfriend apparently dumped him. That will have any man in the weeds searching for something.

2)Kanye never claimed to be a black nationalist-he's just a brother that's super talented and has a fetish with lovely ladies, preferably models, from Europe. Search out Kanye West on this blog to see where I unveiled this fetish. Now if he rhymed like Public Enemy or X-Clan, that would be totally different. LOL

3)In all of his arrogance, maybe he is still shining on African-American women. 808 Heartbreak was for his ex, but maybe this time Kanye is saying-I'm done with all yall-"Play with it."

4)Well, love is love. If my son brings home some feminine, dime piece, Euro speciment, and he says this is the one-will I be mad? No. I'm more concerned about the psyche of it all. Marry her because you love her- not because she's white.

5) He's a grown man and can do whatever he wants. At the end of the night, a man makes decisions that, hopefully, make him a better man and for Kanye West, maybe Amber Rose is just that.

How Mike Vick and Dante Stallworth Exposed a Flawed Legal System

Something just doesn't rub me the right way concerning the glaring differences between Michael Vick's and Dante Stallworth's circumstances. Michael Vick, of course, dealt with Federal and State charges but a good portion of that was served concurrently. Stallworth, on the other hand, dealt with the State of Florida, which is one of the most aggresive criminal law states in the land.

Vick was reported to have killed several dogs. No telling how many were killed outside of his hands. Usually, when dogs lose a fight, they are killed immediately following the fight. I got that from several sources straight from the street.

In the end however, I'm having a hard time reasoning how a man who actually killed a human being receives less legal penalties, and still maintains his place on the Cleveland Brown's roster. How does this work?

I'm not trying to place more emphasis on human life than dogs but this blog HAS to go that direction. My brother and I talked about this situation, we felt as if Stallworth should have received the treatment that Vick did and vice versa.

A hard working 57 year old man was killed at the price of a man who was inebriated way beyond the legal limit. Meanwhile, the NFL, drills players over and over again on these kinds of issues. Simply put, Stallworth getting a taxi would have saved a man's life.

But I don't see the protestors in Stallworth's situation. I don't see the outrage on how Florida's legal system smacked him on the hand. Yes, a 30 day sentence is a smack on the hand. Heck, he only did one day anyway.

"Stallworth was given a 30-day jail sentence and reached an undisclosed financial settlement with Reyes’ family. Besides jail time, Stallworth’s sentence included two years of house arrest, eight years of probation and other restrictions." -AP

I understand that there was no true mens rea with Stallworth. In other words, he didn't intend on killing the victim. Vick on the other hand had a solid mens rea and dogs died because of it. But it's sad we live in a time where people defend dogs over human life. Miami should have been outraged by Stallworth's actions. The Browns should have cut him from the roster. At what point do we take a stand and say, you need to be punished so you don't do this again?

Instead, Stallworth is back at home and can already leave the house to train for his return to the game. For the most part, he's living comfortable again, something Vick didn't have an option on. I can't put my finger on it, but these circumstances smells like injustice to me. Are you catching the same whiff?

Spirituality or Religion: Ohhh, How they Differ!

What makes the difference between these two words? When we speak of religion, we aren't necessarily speaking of spirituality. Instead, religion often offers one a path to become spiritual. By in large, spirituality does not only consist of attending your church, mosque, synagogue, etc. These actions are more so rituals and can become so mundane, they might have no bearing on one's heart and mind (going through the motions).

Religion mainly is exoteric. Meaning, religion mainly deals with the outer forms of man's quest to align with his creator. A good example could be the Ten Commandments or the five daily prayers required of a Muslim. In short, religion gives man a foundation to conduct himself according to his creator's wishes (e.g, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, etc.)

Spirituality;however, goes much deeper. It deals with the esoteric side of things. It questions the heart of man, and also makes outer practices and rituals null and void if man's heart is not in the right place.

The LORD saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. -Genesis 6:5

Being spiritual is not only applying the teachings from previous Masters and religious scriptures, it literally is transforming into those same teachings. Study any Master such as Jesus (p.b.u.h) or Muhammed (p.b.u.h) and you will realize that they were the same teachings they preached. And so a line is drawn between religion and spirituality and it's pretty thin.

The goal of man should not be to be religious but spiritual. And actually, it's hard work. Being spiritual is being able to see the difference between a wordly existence and a soulful existence. I believe that all men have a soul and this portion of their consciousness is eternal. To tap into the soul, especially by the help of a competent teacher or guru, transcends religion. It is the direct path that one must take to become one with his Father.

What Happened to Little Kim: Was it Faith?

This is not the first time I've blogged about Little Kim. Before, I spoke about her being a candidate for Dancing With the Stars. She did that, exposed her breast accidentally, and eventually got booted out. Apparently her dancing skills aren't as good as her rhyming skills. But since Little Kim now qualifies to be a member of the Jackson family via her plastic surgery, there's a couple of things I want to get off my chest.

After watching Notorious, my wife and I wondered what happened to Little Kim. As the movie portrayed and as we all knew, she was Biggie's "ride or die" chick. He elevated her economically at the price of her being "Hip-Hop's Marilyn Monhoe." But the movie Notorious shows what happened when Biggie married Faith. After all, some of us went through the drama with Biggie. I remember having the feeling, when the news broke (of Faith and Biggie's marriage) that Little Kim might not be to happy.

If she had a heart, she was hurt. And most women who sacrifice for a man, and then abruptly are thrown to the curve for another women ask the infamous question: What does she have that I didn't? Trust me, I've been there.

So anyway, next thing we know, we have Little Kim wearing blonde wigs and all kinds of different hair bleaching techniques. Years later, we have a women who has bleached her skin, and has had plastic surgery done to monstrous proportions. To put it frank, she's not to far from being Kim Jackson.

Now, here's my theory and this is just an opinion, so don't go spreading this like the gospel. Okay, Kim was in love with Biggie. Biggie raised her up, and showed her the ropes in the rap game. Big meets Faith and elopes, and demotes the initimate aspect of him and Kim's relationship. Big continues to see Kim while married to Faith until both realize it's to much hassle and heartache. Big "dumps" Kim and only deals with her professionally. Kim is heartbroken, already had lowself esteem and sees Faith as the object of her pain, yet feels that if she was more like Faith, maybe she would still have Biggie. From their, the plastic surgeon got called.

Now maybe I'm tripping but I doubt it. I mean, I don't think Kim was trying to turn herself into a white girl. I've never seen any reason that would make me think she was on the path of Michael Jackson. I think she got hurt mentally, got bent up psychologically and really was trying to get some Faith! Thus, we see the bleaching of the hair, the bleaching of the skin and don't ask about the butchered nose.

But it goes to show you that confidence is underated. Why be like someone else when you can be like you? Instead of saying if I was more like that, I would be fine, why not be still and find the answers between you and your self? Poor Kim, she seems lost and I hope she finds her way.

Michael Vick: Another Victim of Black Exploitation

I know sometimes I can be a little edgy about my views on race. So instead of speaking on the Gates situation, I'm going to tackle the "Michael Vick Story." And though the race card doesn't have such a bearing impact, in my opinion, there are minuscule elements that still embody the situation as a whole.

As it relates to Vick's hideous actions, I disagree totally. There is nothing anyone can say that would convince me otherwise. Moreover, what probably was a minor decision to Vick ended up having major impacts. According to U.S.A Today, Mike forfeited 70 million dollars in his 10 year, 130 million dollar contract, lost millions in endorsements and paid 928,000 bucks in restitution for the state taking care of those abused pits. Briefly put, he owes creditors 20 million.

Now, some African-Americans want to pull the race card out. And no doubt, there is a time to do so. But I don't think this is good situation to pull it on. When you look into some of the details of how dumb Vick got in the treatment of the pits, it doesn't leave much room for the race card.

For example, in the indictment, it is documented that dogs were hung, drowned, and electrocuted. To put it bluntly, thats piss poor.

So lets all hope that Vick learned his lesson. The commissioner is giving him a second chance, so lets hope he's marijuana free and done with dog abuse (for his sake).

The problem I had with the "Michael Vick Story" is how the media exploited him. If you didn't see Vick on the Cover of U.S.A. Today, you missed a sad and gloomy front page. It was so sad and gloomy that I felt compelled to purchase the paper. And what the heck is Vick doing on the cover (featured article) of the USA TODAY anyway!

In lieu of all the issues this country is having, why is Vick on the cover of a nationally syndicated newspaper? Ahhh, the race card unfolds just a tad bit. Seems to me that he's been humiliated enough (by his own actions and that fact that he's broke). Then you want to put him on the cover of the U.S.A Today with his head down and eyes shut. NO FAIR.

I tried to let it slide, but under the picture it read, "A pretty stiff penalty: Michael Vick, leaving federal court May 22 in Norfolk, Va., has lost more than 70 million and spent about 18 months behind bars on a dogfighting conviction." Then to make it crazy, to the right of Vick's article was "Fed says jobless rate may hit 10.1%-Still it sees end of recession this year." Now you tell me what's more important, the recession ending and the current unemployment rate, or Michael Vick. It's a no brainer if you ask me. Apparently the chief editor didn't feel the same way.

In conclusion, let us not pull the race card out on a man that made dumb decisions and subjected himself to the rule of the law. But let us recognize that the media has exploited Vick to the upmost and he doesn't get to see any of that money. Sad indeed.

Black in America 2: The Minstrel Show is Back!!

Oh how Sia's soul trembled when he heard of the return of Black in America 2! This might just be the best Minstrel Show of the year! You know the Europeans love this. I wonder does the KKK throw parties centered around this series? Racist politicians surely have to break the butler out for this viewing. Nothing like eating fine cuisine while you watch blacks in 2009 find a way to fit in society (and it's still not working).

What this show exemplifies is the European's desire to keep us in our "bucket of crabs." They love to see our struggle, it's fascinating to them. The mind of the racist European doesn't want us here in the first place. At best, they would prefer we deported to another country (i.e. Africa) and at worse, they would prefer us to move to the back of the bus (i.e. segregation). When neither happened, you have what Marcus Garvey predicted in earlier times: A country that will forever be racially torn. It reminds me of what happened the first time a black delegation was allowed in the White House. The country, as it always has been was in a racial anarchy. Mr. Emancipator, Lincoln, was trying to convince black people to go back to Liberia (nooo! not Lincoln). He was attempting to keep the European race as white as Jesus (pun intended)! He told the delegation:

Hip-Hop & The Illuminati? What Gives?

A lot of my readers end up on my blog because, believe it or not, people are trying to find a link between hip-hop and the Illuminati. Ironically, one reader landed on my blog searching for lil wayne and his relationship to the Illuminati. Apparently, our conspiracy thinkers (I presume from the hip-hop generation) wonder if hip-hop and the global grand scheme of the Illuminati have a connection.

If you asked my opinion, I would say yes. I haven't got to my book that discusses this secret society in detail, so I don't want to go the historical route. What I do want to do is discuss what we do know. We do know that the Illuminati is pushing for global domination. Moreover, this would not be a good thing for humans. The plan itself comprises of the middle class becoming the lower class and thus, only the wealthy would be on top.

What do they need the people to do while they implement their plan? Well, everything else but pay attention to the laws that are passed in Congress!! They don't want you to know what they are doing, because in the end, they want you to be "enlightened" by their grand plan. Yup, it's good for them and bad for us.

So maybe hip-hop takes out a huge percentage of young adults, who instead of reading the N.Y. Times, or Constitutional Chaos (Napalitano) they are reading XXL or VIBE. Instead of studying for school, they are watching MTV. I have family members that can tell me more about the hip-hop culture than the history of the United States. Couple that with the fact that they know minimum history about their ancestors and you have someone who is deaf, dumb, and blind.

At first, the concept seems outlandish, but when you think about it, isn't Hip-Hop an easy way to disillusion the masses? Isn't it a great smoke screen that takes one's attention away from things that really matter? After all, there are no more artists screaming revolution anymore. To bad X-Clan, and Public Enemy came a little early. We could use their message being blasted twice an hour on the radio these days. Now you might say I'm being tough on hip-hop. No, I'm tough on the people that allow Hip-Hop to rule their lives. I'm tough on the parents that can't see that their kids have to much of an obsession with Little Wayne (as if he's a role model). Will these be my politicians when I become a senior (inshallah)? I'm shaking in my bones!

So yes, take the "urban science" out of hip-hop, discourage any kind of education in lyrics, and only put major money into gentlemen and women that are willing to put on the "blackface." In addition, infuse the genre through the land internationally and now you have millions around the world that will be deaf, dumb and blind because of their passionate loyalty to hip-hop. Yeah, it could be part of the plan of the secret society elites, but even still, it's a minor one at best. Never the less, Sia Sobek says there is a correlation between hip-hop and the plot of the secret society globalist. And in all satire, I say: "Good job big brother."

"Abe Lincoln: A Victim of Righteous Justice"

The more I read the book Dred's Scott Revenge by Andrew Napolitano, the more I realize that Abraham Lincoln was a supreme racist. Moreover, he was not an emancipator, he did not care about the rights of slaves (not to the least) and he felt the "white" race or European peoples, as I like to call them, were inherently superior to the African race!! Way to go Abe! They did a good job of sweeping your dirty history under the rug.

Lincoln was a sellout to his own people. He had a knack for arguing both sides of the issue. But inherently, like most whites in the South at the time, he supported slavery. From the looks of it, Lincoln was hated by the South because he just wasn't bold enough to put his foot down and wave the flag of slavery.

Now, to show you what time it is...peep this:

Dang! What kind of Wheaties was he eating? Now grant it, I knew Abe wasn't the saint they made him out to be before reading this book, but I had no idea he was this much of a bigot. The last place a man like this should be is in the oval office. Sad, Sad, Sad.

But justice is something to be reckoned with and it seems that everything spun out of control for Mr. Lincoln. Trying to appease the North while inherently supporting the South just didn't seem to work out. Therefore, it was his rightful fate to be the first president to be assassinated. When you deem any group of people inferior, when you attempt to change God's law of all humans being equal, there's no telling what you are opening yourself up to. In Lincoln's case, it was a shot to the cranium with a Philadelphia Deringer. That's one heck of a gun to-couldn't have been much left of his brains and that's fair since he was using it correctly anyway. Hitler had some of the same pretenses towards the Jews-however he beat 18 assassination attempts. In the end, he killed himself.

But all in all, you can't deny that African peoples around at the time saw through Lincoln's antics. And while a lot of the country mourned his death, I'm sure many slaves thanked God for justice being served. Ironic indeed-wouldn't you agree?

"Steve Mcnair: Could Polygyny Have Saved His Life?"

The story of Steve Mcnair is unfortunate and sad. However, in the words of Slick Rick, "these types of things happen everyday." The only exigent factor in Mcnair's circumstance is that it cost him his life. Whats more interesting is Mcnair's reputation amongst his community. It seems like his actions didn't fit his character. In fact, even considering his erroneous actions, from what I saw, people close to him only had good things to say about the type of person he was.

Well, with no pun intended, if he was Solomon, this would have never happened. I've had talks with my friends about polygyny, and I usually get rash feed back. But when Mcnair hit the ethers, perhaps it brings more relevance to the notion. The fact is, Mcnair was missing something in his life and his search stopped when he met Sahel Kazemi (even though some press sources say he had another mistress which instigated the incident). And yes, I know that true happiness comes from within, but he was only human (born to make mistakes) and at the time, he saw something that brought him a certain level of contentment that he obviously didn't have.

And yeah, I know it may not seem appropriate to pull the race card out on this issue, but here it comes anyway. Polygyny, at one point, was the norm in societies all over the globe. I know the ladies don't want to fathom their ancestors practicing it-but wake up, smell some Sanka, read a book, and catch up to speed. As you can expect, our humanatarians from the Causcas mountains put and end to polygyny by deeming it unacceptable (got to love how they put the smack down). The iron hand came when fathers of the Christian church backed them up 100%.

So if you really want to go back to your roots, brothers and sisters, then you'd realize your lineage lines you up with families that had numerous wives and one male. Moreover, at this time in history, we were in control of our destiny, without the yoke of European culture dragging us down! If Steve Mcnair could do it all over again, I'd bet he'd take the option.

According to Dr. Patricia Dixon in her book, "We Want for Our Sisters What We Want for Our Selves (African American Women Who Practice Polygny by Consent), polygyny is still practiced in western societies. She proports that now polygyny is practiced under the myth of monogamy. Think it's a joke but names like Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton, John Edwards, Elliot Spitzer, Thomas Jefferson, Mark Sanford, Eric Benet, Sen. John Ensign, and Dr. Martin Luther King (to name a few) proves her estimation to be precise at best.

On the contrary, when Africans practiced polygyny, it was open, whereas no deception was involved. It was used as a form of nation building (i.e. Abraham), and it had numerous advantages over monogomy. Even Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, so long as Allah comes first and all our loved equally, up to four women per male is permissible. Our brother in the pic has three wives with children and they all look happy.

Maybe, just maybe, when Billy got busted, Caucasians began to regret they eradicated polygyny from being an acceptable practice in marriage. I guess the governor of Carolina would affirm that notion. Meanwhile, in America, the practice is so remote to the founders of polygyny, (people of dark hue) it seems as if we didn't introduce the practice to society. I guess we'd rather just get women behind our lady's back, in deception, rather than deal with the fact that polygyny is part of our great ancestreal heritage. According to Dr. Dixion, that's the European way!

And to show you how the cards turn, Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormons, took the practice and ran with it! Makes sense to me, after all, his revelation of Jesus in America came from Egyptian tablets (yeah right)! Once the Causcasian comes through waving the flag, watch out-you might forget who you are!

In conclusion, Steve Mcnair's death is tragic, but at one point, his actions would have never led to the consequences he received in 2009. When you lose sense of your history, you lose a sense of who you are, and when you lose that you you've lost knowledge of self. If only we could turn back to the east and recognize our stolen legacy. Yes, Steve Mcnair was searching for something, but as Africans in America, aren't we all?

"Inspiration Never Dies-Neither Does Good Music"

I guess I'm pretty old school when it comes down music. Sure you can catch me on the stage rocking sci-fi raps with Planet Zoron, but when I go home, I don't even listen to hip-hop. Does it strike you odd that even though I'm a hip-hop artist, I mainly listen to jazz, neo-soul, new age and funk? I hope not.

I guess the apple never falls far from the tree. My dad always listened to jazz and classic R&B. I guess when you grow up in Detroit, it's hard not to. But at any rate, when I was younger, I listened to artists like Miles Davis, Rachell Ferrell, Will Downing, Brian Mcknight, Ramsey Lewis, George Duke, and Anita Baker to name a few that come to mind. I guess you can say I was way ahead of my time or maybe I just had an "old soul" at the time.

But the fact of the matter is, even though these artist were not hip-hop, they taught me so much about the inherent nature of music. Attributes such as passionate songwriting, brilliant compositions, and stellar performances had to rub off on me. Perhaps this is why I never wanted to write about balling, selling drugs...your typical "street" emcee if you will. I always sought to raise the bar by rapping about everyday life in an extraordinary way.

I guess at the end of the night, the lesson learned is you normally get out of life what you put in. Who knows what my musical fate would have been had I not listened to these ingenious musicians. For all I know, I may have never become an emcee, producer, promoter, and owner of an entertainment company. And though I can feel that this 14 year run might be coming to an end as I prepare for law school, and embrace spirituality- I know it was well worth it. I wouldn't take it back for the world.

Abraham Lincoln: An Enemy of Africans & The South

It's no secret that the United States' educational system, as it relates to depicting history as it really went, is tainted numerous falsehoods. Among these "superlies," as I like to call them, is the tale of Abraham Lincoln. We've all heard how much a hero he was when he freed the slaves. In fact, according to western history books, the civil war was fought solely for the freedom of slaves.

However, it only takes one to read a couple of books to discover this was a bunch of dog poop thats been simmering in a crock pot for a 100 plus years. The truth of the matter is Lincoln had no interest in freeing slaves. On the contrary, Lincoln was simply trying to preserve the Union. African's freedom, was not on the forefront of his agenda;however, keeping the country in tact was.

"We show our sympathy with slavery by emancipating slaves where we cannot reach them and holding them in bondage where we can set them free."

The Fact is, Lincoln was caught between a rock and a hard place. As one can imagine the conflict of trying to appease the north and the south was arduous at best, but history shows that Lincoln clearly had no interest in the moral side of the issue.

In fact, the south, frustrated by Lincoln's position on slavery and his knack for infringing on state's rights, created The Confederate States of America (do you remember this in American History?). The states that comprised this nation was South Carolina, Mississippi, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Texas, Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina, and Tennessee. That's right, they created there own nation solely to protect the institution of slavery. But all in all, Lincoln could give a rats butt about Africans. He did not uphold the pillars of what this country was supposed to be founded on.

How disappointing huh? To me, it definitely makes me view the Lincoln Memorial in a different light. Why? Because Lincoln didn't stand for liberty and justice for all. No wonder they kept this quiet in history class.

America's Media: A Wolf in Sheeps Clothing?

A wise man once said war is different variables of deception and if there is truth to that, perhaps there is a war going on on American citizens. However, it is not a physical war, more so, a psychological war fostered by the media. You know the media has immense power on how we perceive our existence. This is why you can't hate on those who don't watch the news. Indeed, there is some wisdom in that.

So how about you? When you turn on Fox, CNN, MSNBC and other news networks,do you take what you see to be true for the most part? More specifically, let's deal with political issues overseas. The elections in Iran, for example, is a good reference point. The media jumped all over the conflict as if we had something to do with it. When you turned on the news, that's all you saw while the conflict persisted. Meanwhile, I wondered what's the big deal? It's there country and their leadership clearly does not want us interfering with their internal issues.

First of all, it is not our country. It's not for us to interfere with another country's election. It seems frivilous at best and don't we have enough problems of our own? Secondly, you have to ask yourself, in what light are they asserting you should view Iran? Thirdly, you have to realize that you are not seeing the full picture. You are seeing what our press and politicians want you to see, and you are hearing what they want you to hear. Last but not least, realize that our government has viewed Iran as an enemy for quite sometime now. Research the CIA's involvement with Iran in the 50's and things become even more clearer. Don't worry-a couple of YouTube clips will initiate your research if you're interested (see how educational my blog can be).

Wouldn't it be better if you got a succinct recap of America's history with Iran before they report on major current events there? It would be a way of keeping the press honest and if nothing else, it would allow people to make better conclusions (they would have more knowledge to make their own conclusions). If the President voiced his concerns, yet clearly asserted he respects Iran's "state sovereignty," why can't the press back up and give it a rest all ready!

So at this time-I'd like to present my evidence to you. That's right, more exhibits for American History X! After watching these YouTube clips, I bet you will think twice about how you view the press reporting on Iran (especially FOX news). You be the judge.

Watered Down Conviction=No Religion

Perhaps the single most significant problem in western society is the lack of religious conviction. The lack of piety in America can be viewed on its face and it's no secret that our administration also treats religion as a mere sport (by in large).

Sure Christianity is the "American Way," but does Christianity have a profound impact on society? If it doesn't, it is a empirical reflection of those who practice Christianity, for man makes religion profound; religion does not make man.

What I mean by that is no matter how pious the religion or path may be, it takes someone to use the religion or path as vehicle to perfection in order for the masses to certify the legitimacy of the said faith. And though it is written in most holy books, apparently it is difficult for humans to except the notion that the ways of the world only bring pain and suffering.

When you turn on the news you see it. When you go to the club, it is on full blast, and sadly when you go to religious institutions, folly is prevalent as ever before. What is the solution to this problem? I believe that man must treat religion/spirituality as if it is a part of his inherent nature. Only God can give us the faculties to be upright and pious and it is through His mercy that we are able to use these faculties for the upliftment of ourselves and others.

However, it became clear to me at an early age that religion for most is closer to being "child's play," rather than it being on the forefront of the majority's hearts and minds. Sadly, until we as a nation begin to place emphasis on pious principles, our fate will ultimately be doomed.

Of course, for me, the revelation by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) holds all the keys to establish a nation that God would be proud of. Islam is unique because it clearly makes it known that lukewarmness is not the way to God's heart. The Quran of Mecca points this out clearly in the following Sura:

"Such as took their religion to be mere amusement and play, and were deceived by the life of the world...for We had certainly sent to them a Book based on knowledge, which We explained in detail- a guide and a mercy to all who believe (7:51)."

That means, as much as we would like to get on our death bed and ask for forgiveness of all our sins in our entire life, we know that God is much smarter than that. After all, He is the all knowing and most Beneficent one, and He is just and holds ALL our deeds on a balance scale.

My point is, in order for us to live up to the standards of God, being lukewarm is not the key. It takes courage and strength to uphold righteous pillars, to not blend in with the ways of the world, and to refute behaviors, laws and actions that are against the divine scheme of things. However, it must be done. If it is not done, you will end up with a nation that has no morals, no significant spiritual precedent, no reverence for the throne of God, and no understanding of what it truly means to walk in the path of the pious ones.

God, Money, or Religion? Choose Wisely

In my religion in America class tonight, my professor said some chilling words spoken by Mr. J.D. Rockefeller himself. If only you could see the words under his sinister looking face on the Time magazine cover. Paraphrasing as close as I can to his actual words he said something almost exactly like "I believe it is a religion to make as much money as you can."

Now, let's flip that. On the contrary, The biblical figure Timothy said the words, "The love of money is the root of all evil." If this is true, then we should be concerned about families such as the Rockerfellers and the Rothschilds. If families as such feel the same way, is it fair to say that they love money? Could there be a hidden meaning behind the ironic statement on the back of your dollar bill, "In God We Trust?" Again, if a man desires money enough whereas he tells the whole nation that,for him, it is a religion to obtain it...doesn't that constitute the love of money? Couldn't money then be his God?

You might say Oronde, you're going to far with this. But I'm known to do such things so follow me for a few more minutes. The love of money coupled with the rigorous pursuit thereof allows one to enter a delusional state where everything, and everyone is merely an object, a stepping stone, if you will, to reach the means.

Not to get side tracked, but isn't that what happened in the south in the early 19th century in this country? Did not the southerners come up with excuse after excuse to justify slavery? Where they not blinded to the fact that had become savages by stripping Africans of there God given freedom just so they could make money?

Now let's fast forward. How about Kenneth Lay, founder of Enron? He and his corporate goons did not once consider the impact they would eventually have on innocent people who invested in their company, nor their employees who worked hard to build up their evil empire.
These men elevated money over citizen's natural rights and thereby debased themselves and any of those who were impacted by their folly.

Heck, since we're rolling, why not throw George Bush and Cheney in the mix? They were pretty up front about their private interest and it was clear that running the country was not their top priority.

Maybe the founding fathers meant in God we trust, but being that they owned slaves, I even question that at times. Who knows the hearts of the men that created the most powerful country in the world. Could it be that behind all the righteous ideals the founding fathers had, everyone had their eye on the dollar bill? Who knows, but between Kenny, Rockefeller and the Bush family, I've just shown you it's possible.

Does the Color of Jesus Even Matter?

Historically speaking, yes says Oronde. So long as I can see, the ancient history of the African race has been trampled over, swept under rug, and remodeled for the western world. So spiritually speaking, no, the color of Jesus doesn't matter. However, historically speaking, his color does matter.

Couple that with that fact that Europeans glorified this fake, white, blond hair, blue eyed godman even to the point of justifying slavery---knowing the truth about the matter holds even more relevance in African communities across the world.

Remember, that Africans could not speak the toungue of the Portugese, English, or Dutch (some of the major slave traders right after Columbus opened the market up). What happened in the "breaking in" process of slaves? And yes, there was a breaking in process which Europeans attempted to solidify African's new mode of behavior, customs, creed, religion, etc- I like to call it whitewash.

Well, among many things, Africans were presented with pictures. You probably didn't know that the elaborate stain glasses in churches that display saints and Jesus use to have a more profound meaning, did you? Well think about it. We couldn't read in those times, so a picture was truly worth "a thousand words." And it's no secret that Europeans in power used this to their advantage as a thesis for them being the superior race.

I'll never forget Amistad. Spielberg presented the concept of the Bible, whereas there were plenty of pictures for Africans to see that the white jesus had a direct lineage to God. Meanwhile, western history books boldly state that one of their excuses for murdering, and enslaving natives was because they weren't Christians. So much for do unto others as you would have done to yourself Iguess. Anyway, I won't hold you long today because I want you to view these two clips from Donahue where this same topic is discussed. Know your history, know yourself, and then you will know the truth.

I had an epiphany this morning. If Drew Ali, a so called "prophet" of Islam, is really a prophet, if he really brought such a profound message to the dark hue people in America, how come the legendary African American scholars never mentioned him? How come the Quran of Mecca leaves no room for his presence? I'll listen if you can find me one reputable African historian that affirmed that Drew Ali's movement was truly legit and divine. Again, I'll listen when you show me what Surah includes the verse that states there will be another prophet beyond Muhammad (and don't come with the same interpretation of Surahs that can be struck down in the Quran).

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, you can say why do I keep bringing this bogus movement up (M.S.T.of A)? Well, I'm educating you, as well as others on the truth about organizations that simply waste the majority of people's time. You have a right to know! So here we go....(I promise this is the last time I address this organization...resolution is near!)

Now...allow me to give you some angles..all from documentation I acquired when I was a member in the organization. I will let most of the documentation do the talking. Note, I will not address one single individual. I am not in the business of attacking people, but just as I challenge our government when they are out of line, I'd do the same to any organization if their principles are obscure and misleading.

The Oral Statements and Prophecies of Prophet Drew Ali (I'm quoting their info)

Sounds a little cultish doesn't it? But there's more juice! I can assure you that though there are numerous chapters of the M.S.T.of A, they all seem to be isolated from one another. There is no unity between these factions, in fact alot of branches rival each other. For instance, my former branch rivaled another branch because the former claimed to be the true, legitimate branch descended from Ali himself. The latter meanwhile would sling mud at the other branch which led only to confusion, something the so called prophet spoke against.

It should be noted that there are plenty of things that Drew Ali mentioned that held relevance. Yet at the end of the night, we are dealing with a disorganized group of African-Americans that claim they have a nationality, yet have no nation. Doesn't that snatch the root out of the movement? If you don't have a nation, how can you have a government? Yes, my friends, I see what Drew Ali attempted to do, but the fact is HE DIDN'T DO IT!

My former branch apparently only has seven members across the United States. If they have more, I'd estimate 20 (LOL). The branch I was in before them, sadly enough, was a similar situation. Mind you, this movement has been around since 1913.

And just when you thought I was done, the story continues! Look at a Grand Sheik's (a temple leader in the movement) response to a legitimate question on a blog by the M.S.T. of A. The lack of spirituality in the reply is evident and one questioning Drew Ali's divinity should not offend a member if he or she is secure in his faith. I was taught in the temple to not argue religion. Apparently, the leaders need to take a script of their own medicine.

We are identifying with the whole Islamic world by extending the learning or in other words,” furthering” or “building upon the foundation”. By the way, our ancient forefathers and mothers spoke many languages and one of them being Arabic. Matter of fact, we study many languages in the Grand Body. We study Wolof and Arabic.
Now, I pray that you aren’t the ------------ that goes by the name ------------ that refuses to return the Warrant of Authority given to you by the Supreme Grand Sheik? We talked earlier this week about Hip-Hop and it's lack of variety. We discussed its lack of political topics in lyrics, and we spoke of the impact that corporations have had on the market. However, I wanted to point out an exception.

Lupe Fiasco is one of the rare exceptions to Monday's blog. On first listen, it almost sounds like he is literally just throwing words in a bowl and making gumbo, but when you listen closer to Lupe, he actually is making a lot of sense. Ironically, associates in my hip-hop network in North Florida aren't to impressed with him. Go figure. Let me guess, any hip-hop artist that makes to much sense is given the thumbs down (are you taking the time to listen?)?

Here is a man that grew up with the geeks and gangsters. In other words, though he grew up in the slum side of Chicago, he still attracted those that didn't follow the trends of the "ghetto." In the interview for his USA Character Approved Award, Lupe noted, "If I tell a lie and I sell a million records, I've just told a million lies." In addition, he noted, I speak about things that are "meaningful."

Even moreso, I'm impressed with his creativity. Lupe new if he spoke on "meaningful" subjects to profoundly, he would be blacklisted like many other artists. Instead, he chose hip poppy beats and chose his words and delivery carefully to create an overall package that the average ear can listen to. Things like this don't happen overnight. Listen to Lupe speak on the psychology of "The Cool," and you'll find that he put together an elaborate scheme to address the pertinent issues that he felt he needed to get off his chest. Young artist who are viewing this blog should take notes.

*P.S.- Make sure you watch "Conflict Diamonds." The song alone educates the listener to the struggle specific Africans endure so millions can wear a diamonds. We need more of these kind of songs in hip-hop.

Walmart Has More Rights than Dred Scott Ever Had

Do you know about Dred Scott? He was a slave that sued the U.S Government in order to restore his freedom. To make a long story short, he moved to free territory (slavery was illegal) with his masters. He then sued the Fed's for his freedom asserting it was illegal to prohibit his freedom on free land. The United States Supreme court disagreed. The reasoning for such measures, according to the court, was that Dred Scott wasn't a "person." We can presume that this ruling was based merely on the color of skin. So the word person, as it is written in the constitution, does not apply for Mr. Scott.

Meanwhile, a corporation like Wal-Mart, because of previous precedent in federal courts, is considered a person. This, my fellow readers, was a historical moment in the American legal system. As soon as corporations were deemed humans, this automatically meant that corporations had more rights than Dred Scott as well as the slaves of that era. Talk about big business. On another note, it doesn't seem fair that a man can judge who is a human/person or not does it? Aren't we all humans? I guess not.

Since I read the book Constitutional Chaos by Andrew Napalitano, I've become a fan of his assertiveness in holding our government accountable for breaking its own laws. I'm excited about his new book, "Dred's Scott Revenge-A legal history of race in America," and I look forward to sharing with you the knowledge I gain from the read.

The Future of Hip-Hop: Uncertain at Best

Okay, I'm a 70's baby so I got a chance to see hip-hop evolve from the baby stage through its adulthood. We should be proud of hip-hop for it's longevity. Even my dad told me when I was young that hip-hop would fade away like disco did. But back then, hip-hop was refreshing. It was full of variety, and it's vast flavors could be heard when you turned on your radio.

Now, the influx of corporations, and even more key, the merging of corporations have put hip-hop in a box. Yes, outsiders have come into the urban culture and now play chess with the future of hip-hop. As an aritst, producer, manager of a hip-hop entertainment company and a fan of the art, I am highly disappointed with where hip-hop has gone in the last 5 years.

You know as well as I know that the bulk of what we hear commercially is overly processed garbage. To put it mildly, there is not much soul in mainstream hip-hop anymore. Now, the music is so distorted that though the most hits seemingly are made for teeny boppers, I see grown men playing some of these hideous tracks. I'm not "dissing" the artist because everybody has to make a living. I don't mind a Souljah Boy or two either, but when Souljah Boy opens up a whole new market of artists and listeners, I see how stupid this game has gotten.

Meanwhile, the artist that do have something to say lack promotion and are put on the back burner of major labels. Could hip-hop be brainwashing the minds of are youth? Any smart man would atleast say possibly. This is why I don't play this trash in my car when my son is in the vehicle. Heck, I barely even listen to the radio these days. I know about swag, understand balling, don't sell dope, and don't have 20 inch rims. In addition, I dislike the terms bitch, nigga, dog, hoodnigga, hoe, etc....How can I relate to the majority of these horrid tunes?

Lastly,where is the political presence in hip-hop? I can tell you that there is little to none on a mainstream level. But there was a point when you could turn on the radio and learn about your culture, gain pride for your ancestors, and gain new uplifting knowledge. Lets let YouTube affirm my notion.

The Revolution Will Not Be Televised!

I remember hearing that quote back in Spike Lee's prime. Yes, the revolution will not be Televised. This is not to say that it will not be presented to us. Moreover, it's to say that the revolution will be so all encompassing, one will not foresee the ends to its means once it's presented.

Bit by bit, the pieces of the New World Order (N.W.O), but everyone will sleep on it. They will actually contribute to this new global scheme of world domination by Europe. When they witness the atrocities that will result afterwards,the desire to research history to find some justification for the occurrences will arise in the masses. Unfortunately, by then it will be to late.

John Henricke Clarke noted in his book Christopher Columbus and the Afrikan Holocaust, "Slavery and the Rise of the European Capitalism,
"They have already proven that they have a mission in mind, irrespective of religion, politics or cultural affiliation and that mission is to dominate the world and all of its resources by any means necessary. The new rationale for this dominance is now called a New World Order [my emphasis]. Africans and other non-European people must plan and strategize for a New World Order for their own that will be developed by them, for them. Our mission should not be to conquer Europe, but to contain Europe within its borders and let it be known that anything Europe wants from other parts of the world can be had through honorable trade."

History is the best teacher, and if we take an honest look at the timeline of historical events, from their escape from the Church of England, Europeans of the so called New World have come to power on the backs of indigenous cultures. Afrikans, who became Negroes under the authority of their masters, took the brunt of this labor. Not only were we forced to work but outsiders also purged our history from written record, took credit for most of our accomplishments, trained us to hate our own brother and sister (See the Willie Lynch documents here), and equated our inherent logic to one of a beast.

You show me a so called "black man" that does not see the significance of all "blacks" uniting on an international front, and I'll show you a man who still has the same thinking that his ancestors had no choice to accept in the 18th century.

In America, we look at other cultures resentment to the United States. Japan, China, Venezuela and Iran are classic examples. Any culture that took pride in inducing the biggest holocaust to humanity (and had the nerve to say it was the Christian thing to do) should be treated cautiously. Sadly, because of how long it took to get formal apologies, we are just now beginning to see apologies from our government for the slavery that built this country from the ground up. Does a formal apology do anything to help our condition? Doubted.

I look at the tube and praise Allah that I don't have cable. I look to the news and find history repeating itself. I see our youth being swayed towards ungodly ideals everyday. Politicians are blatantly in the business for their own benefits, and the land of the free and home of the brave seems that it's close to running it's empire in a ditch. How long can any great empire last anyway?

The revolution will not be televised because what you see on T.V. is not the revolution, moreso, you see the small bits and pieces that are needed for this revolution to be initiated(it's already in progress). If we don't combat their revolution with our own, where will we be at the end of the night?

Laws are in place to protect your natural rights that God gave you-but if you don't defend them, history can show you were you will be down the road.

Wanting Heaven but Reaching for Hell (Part 1)

Two weeks ago, I made a decision to stop drinking. I felt it was necessary for several reasons, all basically centered around spiritual ideals. Remember last Monday, we opened the week discussing how the internal love that exist within us is strong enough to blossom any virtuos attributes in our characters if we so choose.

But in the entertainment industry, I find some of the strangest and most illogical thoughts. What do I mean? Well, honestly, I get the weirdest reactions when I tell people I've quit. Most are in disbelief until they realize that I've been drinking Sprite all night. I've received one congratulation, and several other nudges of encouragement.

But then, I also have been getting this warped kind of pyschological paradox from people. For instance, one associate said that his boss told him that he was a d#@K when he sobered up. In addition, he noted that he would go several weeks without drinking just to prove he could quite...and then start drinking again.

Yesterday night at the gig, I told the bartender I will be ordering no alcohol all night. After letting her know I quit, she noted, "I had a rough one last night." I told her, "I've had one to many rough ones."

Now, we as humans want heaven but our minds seem to reach for hell. What do I mean? I simply mean that our own thinking drops poisonous seeds that blossom and circumvent the good which we were born to create. Moreover, I know plenty of people that have substance abuse problems, want to change, acknowledge that they're wrong, yet perpetually continue to hurt themselves. Why? There are many reasons, and surely I can relate. In fact, I'm just like you.

This is why in Islam, our holy book asserts that we are children of Adam. In other words, we are more inclined to follow our own will, not the harmonious will that exists within us. Ironically, however, we all are inherently created to be representatives of the Most High. Think about it. No matter what you want, at some point you have to reach out and grab it. Your mind dictates what you want and your actions navigate your reach; therefore, the average human being wants heaven but reaches for hell.

I'm sorry to tell you that in this life, you can't have your cake and eat it to. So long as nature has existed, we know that everything comes in pairs. The same can be said for our personalities and characters and if we are wise, at some point in our lives, we make a choice and stick with it. We decide not only do we want heaven, but we are willing to put ourselves in position to receive heaven. This means one has to acquire a shift in thought. It's like being blindfolded and taking someone's hand through the forest. Though you can't see, you left the force or the divine will guide your steps (instead of the person leading you).

When you make a decision to dedicate your life to the divine will that exists within you, you should not feel like the average person. You should not feel worldly. You should feel like an alien on a unknown planet. Your goal: to uphold your creeds from you native home.

This shift is important because we are Lords of this plane. The average person lets the world dictate to them who they will be. They will go with the flow and become sucked in the ways of this rigid world and by doing so, they take on all the negative aspects that we see from this world. Our only sane wall of defense is free will and our minds. Stay tuned for part two.

Do We All Come From the Same Place?

There are interesting theories on where we as human beings come from. Anthropologist and Scientist admit that, so far as they have found, Africa is the birthplace of human civilization. Lets face it, our educational system on who we are as human beings and our inherent birthplace is foggy at best. The western world often refers to the "Adam and Eve" story. However, that story only dates back to 5,000+ years ago. I have evidence on my books shelf that places the Sphinx atleast 40,000 years old.

Even the Bible suggest or infers that others existed before Adam in Genesis. For instance, if Cain was the offspring of Adam and Eve, how quickly were they popping out babies? After the infamous first murder of the Bible, Cain says upon knowing he will be put in exile by Allah himself: "I will be a restless wanderer on the earth and whoever finds me will kill me." (Gen. 4:13)

My point is if these were truly the first siblings in humanity, where did the other people come from who would find Cain on his nomadic venture? Furthermore, whats up with Nod, the land east of Eden? Cain goes there and finds a wife? Hmmm. So there were other people around! (Gen 4:17). But then Allah said NO, no one touches (murders) Cain, thus giving him the "mark" for protection. In other words, these other people were going to kill him had it not been for Allah and his graceful pardon(Gen 4:15). According to Cain, people would discover him and kill him..lol.

So I have just proven how the first several pages of the Bible does not offer clear cut answers on the beginning times of man. And for your info, Adam had two different sets of offspring (Gen 4:25/4:1)

Now, the rabbit whole gets deeper. If indeed the dark hue man was the first, that would make him indigeneous-a direct descendant from God in laymen terms. So where did the pale skin man come from? Lets mention a couple of theories on this topic. There is a Vitamin D albino theory which states that Europeans were dark hue until they moved to colder regions in which they adapted and transformed into a entirely different race.

There is a theory that ancient Egyptians (pre-dynasty) created the European race. As Bobby Hemmit said, they deemed it an "experiment gone bad." If you think this notion is far fetch, realize that cloning exist now and there is nothing new under the son according to Solomon. Anyway it goes, science shows that they are not the original man.

So the logical question is what are they and how do they differ from melanin infused people? Now, in all fairness, if you are on this earth, you deserve to be treated in fairness and equality...regardless. All I'm saying is where can they be traced back in ancient history? And if the Sphinx is atleast 40,000 years old, why are we told that man's history can only be traced back to Adam and Eve? There is a thin line between science, history, and spirtuality. Feels like conspiracy theory week for me coming off my last blog! But in my daily research of the web this week, I've been coming across some edgy political content. So, yet again, we have another take on a conspiracy theory, this time from Sean Hannity and a couple of scholars. They give their take on the Illuminati. Now I have heard about the Illuminati for the longest but this clip supposedly reveals the founder and the overall initial purpose of this secret society.

Of course it would take a movie like "Angels and Demons" to get this kind of topic in the press, but for what it's worth, it's interesting. My opinion-since you are already interested in it is: YES, the smallest percentage of people in the world (no more than 5%) are pulling strings that have an impact on us globally. So, does that mean our president is a puppet? Oronde says yes. Do you believe in the concept of a "New World Order." Oronde says yes.

But at the end of the night, I'm not worried. This is why we should focus more on our inner self instead of our outer self. The things we do to tap into the infinite side of us has implications way beyond the doubt and fear that can be created by these theories. Our faith in a higher being must supersede any worldly fears, doubts or desires. But for what it's worth, take a look.

I wanted to start off the week by purely addressing spirituality and how we can make it work for ourselves. First, regardless of your faith, we all know that God has already engraved in us morality. And perhaps it's beyond our understanding, but surely we inherently know right from wrong.

As human beings, we have to pay more attention to ourselves. Yes, that small voice that speaks inside of our mind. Often we ignore, or minimize its purpose but what if we were to listen to the still small voice that speaks from within? Normally, we make excuses and just end up succumbing to the wrong train of thought. How many times has that voice confirmed something was wrong before you committed the act?

Think of this theory: Humanity, by in large, is out of tune with themselves. This feeds into a kind of reverse psychology. In other words, the bad becomes the norm to the degree that the norm is accepted as acceptable!
But the scriptures reveal that there is a radar in all of us (the soul) which sways us to doing God's will. No matter how much dirt and dross you bury it in, it's still there. That means, at anytime in a man's life, he can decide to pull the shovel out and remove the filth which clouds his mind. This will lead to righteous thoughts which leads to righteous thinking, which ultimately leads to perfection.

So as all the prophets call for, we must change! We talked about this before. Repentance comes in degrees and it should. How do I know? Well if thoughts come before actions, we have to explore how we think to solve our outer forms of folly.

But you have to take a look in the mirror and just be pathetically real and honest with yourself! Make adjustments from there, and in the back of your mind, know that you will change-it's just a matter of YOU doing it.

So when you listen to this song...realize that love is already in you. God is already within you. The spirit of peace has been engraved in your very being. All you have to do is use it.

You remember Boyz in Da Hood, Menace to Society, New Jersey Drive...etc? Good, because you know that movies as such portrayed demographics, which demonstrated the trap of the inner city life. Often, urban youth are literally born into circumstances where selling drugs "seems" normal, common if you will. However, upon close scrutiny, excuses are made and lives are killed, communities are damaged (often times beyond repair), and generations are affected forever.

On the flip side, the psychology of the individuals who distribute drugs in our urban communities seem warped, even considering the rigorous circumstances. You can say, "I'm from the hood, this is all I know." But do they not make a choice in the matter? At some point, a man/women must evaluate-Is this right and if it's wrong, do I still want to continue doing this? With that said, the aforesaid quote seems like a well concocted excuse.

The mind is sharp. And my philosophy is only you can make it sharper. For instance, most inherently know right from wrong. Why? Empirically speaking, it seems to be a inner brand that comes along with the package of being a human being (unbeknown to us). So if you agree with me that that inner being or consciousness is there, how can we reason with those who default any criminal activity to an excuses (s) such as: This is where I'm from, This is all I know, This is who I am, This is how I was raised.

Now, in a court of law, do these excuses fly? Are they permissible? NO! Why? Because that dag on state attorney (whether crooked or not) and that judge expects you to know right from wrong! Something gave you those spidey senses, because you surely didn't give it to yourself. It's even hard for an atheist to argue that point (not necessarily saying that it comes from God).

So, when I see hip-hop that portrays this kind of mentality, I don't agree because we ALL can choose to do better for ourselves. We all can choose to let go of negativity, and we all can choose to help mankind to the best of our abilities. Anything else is uncivilized and history proves it.

Give or Take: The Balance of Life

Life is truly about energy. More specifically, how we use our energy, what motives underly the use of that energy, and who we direct that energy towards. Moreso, there is an aspect of energy that remains within our own being. To much output without tapping into the input doesn't seem to make sense.

I'm at a point in my life where certain changes must be made. Those changes surely will free up energy for me. When I make the shift, there will be a surge of energy going out but no place to go! Humans must maintain a certain level of equilibrium. What is fair must be balanced. So when we make changes, especially character wise, we have to evaluate that former use of energy. Otherwise, we may be at the same point again since we don't no how to appropriate the energy elsewhere.

For me, I'm choosing martial arts. That's right. Oronde is going to be chopping it up with a dojo. I've looked into several forms of martial arts. None is better than the other. It's a matter of choice and application of the art and the science that grounds the art. The point is we as human beings have to find ways to channel our energy in more holistic fashion. Some people play ball, others play golf, some lift weights.

I, subjectively speaking, am going to take up martial arts. Why? Because, Martial arts shows one how to harness internal energy and also push it out peacefully. Furthermore, if I do need to defend myself, someone will be in for a treat.

So it looks like I will be practicing Tang Soo Do. After researching, I found out this form of martial arts is the original Taekwondo. Even more intriguing are the pillars to the art. Take a look:

It is true that I'm highly considering converting to Islam. But, I don't want to become "Arabanized." Dig it? In other words, I am for the ideology of Islam, but I don't see the necessity in associating with the Arabic culture. Every man must have a sense of his forefather's legacy and mine can be traced back to Ethiopia and even Egypt. In those days, spirituality was not used for imperialism or political reasons. These were the ancient days of old where spirituality was authentic and it was a way of existence as opposed to a past time (like people treat religion today).

I've always had thoughts of if there are historical traces of the term "Allah" before Mohammed. Dr. Henrick Clarke, a late African Historian, and one of the best, states boldly: "If you talk about Islam before Mohammed, I don't know what you are talking about."

But who knows? The brother in this film asserts the term Allah did exist in pre-Islamic times. The only variable is that it was written on the walls of the tombs in Egypt, according to him. In other words, its language is encoded in hieroglyphics ( which he says is Wollof which derives from Kemet).

Now I won't accept it on face value but I'm open to the idea. After all, the concept of a creator can be found wherever man can be found. Moreover, Mohammed only referred to the same Creator that Abraham worshipped and it's no secret that the essence of Christianity comes from Egypt. The Life of a Musician: The Gift and the Curse

There are many advantages in having artistic talents. The inspiration of creating music is invaluable, and playing music in front of people who enjoy your tunes is priceless. But it does seem that there are disadvantages also. We often here of the life of a "rockstar" and several negative attributes can be attributed to this kind of lifestyle. For instance, drugs seem to come with the territory and being a musician often produces an incredible ego.

I speak from first hand experience. The rush of having an incredible show subsequently leads to free shots, groupies, afterparties, more beer, more women and the list goes on and on....

Moreover, it is very difficult to separate these musical "side effects" from the industry. In fact, the gifts and the curses seem very intrinsic. What is frustrating is it doesn't have to be that way for musicians. I estimate in the ethers of creativity, there must be some force that induces negative pitfalls that musicians often fall into.

Addictions often are just a price of being a musician. The wear and tear of gigging, the hard work that is put in practice, and the late nights in the studio often produces enough stress (even though it's fun) whereas one is more susceptible to substance abuse.

What I'm learning (a tough lesson indeed) is we as musicians have to run the music and not let the music run us. Perhaps it's our own thoughts that push us into these sticky situations and lifestyles. Furthermore, before we were musicians, we were humans and still are humans first.

If you really look at it, we choose what kind of lifestyle we want to live even if some occupations birth circumstances that may sway one to follow a said lifestyle. Musicians, please read the previous sentence again.

Finally, maybe we can learn from Eminem who stated in the Detroit Metro Times:

"I talk to Elton a lot. We became friends and I talk to him about things, career wise. And he had a substance abuse problem in the past. So when I first wanted to get sober, I called him and spoke to him about it because, you know, he's somebody who's in the business and can identify and relate to the lifestyle and how hectic things can be. He understands like the pressure and any other reasons that you wanna come up with for doing drugs, you know. Me and him have had similar lives and stuff. So I reached out to him and told him, "Look, I'm going through a problem and I need your advice."

Main point being, don't be afraid to get some help. As musicians, making music is what we do but at the end of the night, we decide who we are.

Knowledge, Wisdom, and Understanding: My take on it.

1. What is knowledge?
-Knowledge is all material that can be mentally absorbed empirically. Without knowledge, we would seek to learn nothing which the mind can't fathom because it is designed to seek and learn various forms of information.

2.What is wisdom?
-Wisdom is the minds ability to reason and apply knowledge in a manner that will uplift himself and others around him. Essentially, wisdom is knowing when, why and how to use the knowledge that has been acquired.

3. What is Understanding?
-Understanding is merely the mind's perception of knowledge as it is;therefore, being able to objectively and subjectively process information acutely and rationally.

Cheney's Daughter Slams Obama

I couldn't help but speak out about Cheney's daughter who expressed her dissent against Obama releasing pictures of the U.S Militiary waterboarding (and any other deviant behavior they enacted). The article in today's CNN somehow equates Obama's actions as an equivalent to "siding" with the terrorists. What a joke.

The fact of the matter is we were wrong. And, inevitably, what is done in the dark must come to the light at some point anyway. So no Ms. Cheney, Obama merely is exposing folly that was intentionally done by our last administration. Perhaps viewing the video and pics of such atrocities can open our eyes to why this kind of behavior should never be condoned. Moreover, seeing is believing to a degree and upon me viewing the pics and videos, I was truly appalled. Even McCain asserted that waterboarding is inherently wrong. In addition, his experience of being tortured led him to the conclusion that you normally do not get accurate information from a detainee under such conditions.

Now, you want to get mad and say our president is siding with terrorists but the real terrorist was the govermental administration that allowed such actions to persist as well as the troops that committed such devilish acts.

If they were all for it then, we should be able to see it now. And that is exactly what is happening. I commend Obama for bringing to the light some of the horrors of of our last administration. Sometimes in order to correct things, you have to take a close look on what needs to be corrected. Wouldn't you agree?

An Unforgiving Punishment: The Struggle of Ex-Felons path in Today's Workplace.

"Reduce Crime Recidivism by Providing Ex-Offender Support: Obama will provide job training, substance abuse and mental health counseling to ex-offenders, so that they are successfully re-integrated into society."

I have a close friend that is undergoing hardships due to his record being blemished by a crime he committed several years ago. He simply can't find a job. Me, not being able to relate, was somewhat unsure on what advice to give him. But prison exists for two reasons as my former criminal law professor noted. The first reason is to deter. Meaning, the law smacks you on the hand, and locks you up for a brief time in the hopes that you will never be back. The other reason is to simply punish the victim for criminal activities.

However,
It does seem unfortunate that those who have excepted the deterrence, who have learned their lesson, and have repented still have to pay the price for their past actions. The truth of the matter is no legislation has truly addressed the "reintegration" process. And I agree, some businesses cannot afford the liability such as financial corporations or companies that process privileged material. But could not America create a reintegration program that could give employers some incentive to hire ex-felons?

It would seem fair to me. Again, I'm speaking because I know this individual and I know he's learned his lesson. A lifetime punishment just doesn't seem fair, just or balanced.

10 Reasons Why Watching Bootleg Movies Sucks

1. Normally, you cannot select different scenes-of course, it's just one long play.

2.Occasionally, you hear the baby cry out of the mere frustration that they shouldn't be in the theater anyway.

3.It makes stealing from Hollywood way to easy. No wonder the writers went on strike last year.

4.Just when you were really getting into the movie, whoops, it stops playing. (Leaf Qwembi from Planet Zoron had a seemingly flawless copy of Seven Pounds until the movie cut off in the last 30 minutes of the film)

5.Sadly, I saw Origins of Wolverine on bootleg (it wasn't mine-lol). What a leak-all the special effects weren't completed which made for an ill fated ending with buildings looking like CGI cubes and Cyclops looking stupid since all that red stuff from his eyes wasn't quit blasting right. Apparently, movies are being leaked before they're completed.

6.Your love meter with your partner crashes when you 1)take a risk and create a date off a bootleg movie 2)play the bootleg movie on the date & 3) the quality is horrible and you finally learn that your girl doesn't like your "cheap way out." (you should have taken her to the theater).

7.They feed into the t.v. dinner society. Can't we just wait and set twenty bucks aside for the real dvd?

8.They have created the infamous "Barbershop Salesman" who always comes in distracting your barber from keeping your dome tight. "Hey man, I got that Punisher, got that Dark Knight-2 for ten, 2 for ten!" When the clippers get turned off so your barber can see the deals, there's a problem.

9.Yeah, you were all excited about the purchase until the disc didn't play in your 5 year old dvd player.

10. Isn't it a federal felony to distribute those? .....hmm....be easy.

Planet Zoron: We're on a Whole New Atmosphere

Just wanted to give a big shot out to my band, Planet Zoron. These guys kick but. Our weekend was an exciting one indeed! Friday night, we rocked the Engine Room in Tallahassee, Florida. The crowd was overwhelmingly pleased with our performance and we even created a virtual pit where people could do the b-boy dances of old. Classic indeed.

In addition, we rocked a house party Saturday night. Our strategy was to tap into the F.S.U scene and we did an excellent job of doing so. At the end of the night several disc were sold, and our email list was full of new fans. Cool-works for me.

Hard work pays off and in this business, your fans get the best reward out the deal. We work, while they dance and drink. Furthermore, it's awesome for musicians to see fans vibing to the beat. It's truly a mutual and reciprocal obligation between fans and musicians and the more fans we acquire, the more I know we are very close to accomplishing the dreams and goals we have set forth.

Two Things that Kanye and Wayne Have in Common.

I don't mean to be a piehole about the matter,after all, you know how I feel about Lil Wayne. And as it relates to his singing voice, it's evident that him and Kanye lack any degree of real vocal talent. This is the danger of the autotune software. It makes those that cannot sing posses a kind of "virtual" talent. I thought Kanye was bad (check my previous blog that shows Kanye without the autotune effect live). But Wayne takes the case. In addition, he sounded so horrible that I didn't even listen to the whole clip. See for yourself.

John Madden: The Legend is Retiring

As I drove home late last night, I happened to catch on the George Norry show the astonishing fact that John Madden is retiring from commentating. My mouth dropped in awe! Madden has been there for the hip-hop culture, specifically those who love football. Not only has his commentating skills and knowledge of football influenced our generation. Indeed, Madden arguably made the first, comprehensive, and enjoyable football game ever.

One thing about Madden I love is his passion for the tasks he sets out to accomplish. Everything, so far as we could see, about Madden was full of passion and love. Take the game Madden for example. Madden made it clear that the game started off with him and a comrade talking to the programmers about their vision of the game. Madden, unlike other stars, didn't want a mediocre game with his name on it. He was concerned about the game emulating a real football experience. As technology grew, this became more evident.

Madden is a superhero in the coaching realm also. His resilience can be felt once you research his history. He lost 5 A.F.C title games in seven years (he became head coach at 32 years old). Then finally in 1977, he won the Super Bowl against Minnesota. When he retired, he was the youngest coach to compile 100 career regular season victories. Then, imagine doing that in ten seasons. In fact, he never had a losing season.

And now his legacy is fixed via EA Sports. I own Madden and condone any gamers to hop on board. Yes, for the longest I fought it (I loved the 2K series), but I realize now that Madden is the closest thing you can get to a real N.F.L experience in the virtual world of gaming.

So there you have it, a legacy done in commentating but indefinitely alive in the gaming world. A champion, class act, and one of the best to do it.

Sorry Eminem: Can't Let You Slide With That Comment.

But not all hope is lost for Eminem, it seems, as a few names have kept him hopeful about the Hip Hop game. "But with this new T.I. album, with this new Lil Wayne album of recent, it seems like things are looking a lot better now. You can appreciate Lil Wayne using different words to rhyme and actually rhyming words that you know. Or T.I., where you hear shit and you’re like Whoa, ah, I wish I would have thought of that!" -Eminem

Just when I got comfortable reading this article that revealed some of Eminem's most recent views on his life and the state of hip-hop, he spoke the aforesaid comments. I'm not going to waste to much time on this. Firstly, I've always thought that Eminem was over- rated. This is not to say he is not a melting pot of talent. It's more a testimony of my foreseeability. I knew he would not have the longevity or maintain the respect he accumulated off his first two albums. He was "The Great White Hope of Hip-Hop." He served his time, made his millions, and retreated from the biz to enjoy his newly renovated life of luxury (and to get off drugs which I commend him for).

But this reference to Lil Wayne's music being a symbol of the rebirth of hip-hop is emphatically ridiculous. I don't need to prove my case. I already blogged about the folly of Lil-Wayne. Quiet frankly put, he is NOT hip-hop. If Eminem is inspired off Wayne's last album (yes it had it's highlights, but no, it did not help redeem the state of hip-hop), I'm curious to see what he will release next. I'm from Detroit and I'm a tough critic as you already know. I'll be waiting Em.

Planet Zoron Rocking Live Tonight!

There's nothing like rocking the Hootnaney set. What is it? It's a recurring monday that features local bands in Tallahassee, Florida. Essentially, it's a two hour set that runs from 10 pm to midnight. I like the pressure of it all. I mean hey, it's live on the radio. There isn't much room for error at all.

In addition, you can't help but feel the remnants of Motown. We're in the big sessions room, but everyone is fed audio through the head phones. Hip-Hop and Roller Derby Girls? Let Me Explain. Part one

Yesterday, my hip-hop band, Planet Zoron, rocked the Tallahassee Roller Derby Girls game. What a time it was! There were well over 500 hundred in attendance. The game was exciting and featured women of all different shapes and colors skating, checking, and strategizing to be deemed the winner.

But indeed it, is interesting that Planet Zoron was selected to perform during the intermissions. What does this say for hip-hop? I think it's a testimony to hip-hop being a viable music genre, and thus, it testifies to hip-hop not fading out as many thought it would (including my dad). Yes, Oronde says Hip-Hop will not be like disco.

Our audience was mostly Europeans with sprinkles of "minorities." Roughly estimating, I would say that perhaps 30% were over 40. But our band proves that hip-hop does break all kinds of barriers. Even at the game, I spotted a senior citizen cutting the rug to our tunes. Moreover, the D.J (shouts out to K-Dog) played mostly hip-hop the whole bout.

The moral to the story is hip-hop has grown tremendously in the last ten years and hip-hop has always been the voice of urban culture. Initially, it did not appeal to older people. However, through it's growth, hip-hop has broken a host of barriers that existed before. It has undoubtebly alleviated tension between all young cultures in America. If nothing else we can relate to what is in our Ipods-lol. In contrast, it allows older people to understand the voice of the young culture. This bridges the gaps between generation(s). So I wanna give a big ups to Capital Punishment's (Ranked 66 in the world) victory last night and formally thank them for allowing us a chance to rock! Go Hip-Hop go! Zoron! Less Ego=Getting Stronger

Did you see how Southpark ridiculed Kanye West? It was quite hysterical. But all in all, Southpark, perhaps, showed Kanye how ignorant he looks at times. In short, the clip in Southpark shows how Kanye's ego prevents him from recognizing a blatant joke. Because he loves to put fish sticks in his mouth, he's a "gayfish." But the ego is tricky, and no matter how much of a piehole Kanye can be, did we ever stop to think that maybe, in his mind, he was being rational? In Buddhism, for instance, the ego is the single opponent that man must overcome. And yes, you that are reading this now, surely have ego discrepancies.

How do we conquer our own ego? My studies reveal that sitting under a teacher that is competent in the study of self is the most efficient way to accomplish such a task. The ego condones obscurities, and present a multitude of mental barriers that prohibits us from seeing things as they really are. When we don't see things as they are, we live in a warped world where everything is narrowly curtailed to our own likings. How could we ever reach are pinnacle in this mode?

So my advise to Kanye, just as he has mentors like Jay-Z, and No I.D., is to find a teacher that can teach you how to suppress your ego. Something to think about Mr. West.

Just wanted to apologize to all my fans. I've been trying to abide by a new work policy which prohibits me from accessing the internet. I've always blogged from the job, and this explains why there hasn't been much blogging going on lately.

But have no fear, I'm back. I'll get it cranked up again this month. My goal is to post one blog once during the week, as well as blogging on Saturday and Sunday. Anything in between will be short, succint blogs, which may not necessarily stick to the theme of what I am trying to offer you-hence you may not see those that much.

"What About Your Friends?"

Some people in life never realize a good thing until it goes away. Lets talk about friends. What constitutes a good friendship? I would say a slew of attributes, but essentially, friendships are based on love, loyalty, and compassion. My dad always said, "On your death bed, you will only have a handful of friends." That meant no more than five, literally.

Paps was way over my head at the time, but he knew in the end the lesson would soak in. A real friend is hard to come by. A fake friend seems like a real friend, but some variable exposes that said person. How many "friends" have you come by? Mind you, I'm speaking of best friends.

Don't we call a lot of our associates friends? But they're not. You know that really they are good associates. That's why on your deathbed they won't be there. I thought I had a best friend. But time and destiny proved different.

You can't be a best friend to someone when it's all about you. Selfishness destroys relationship along with pride and vanity. I admit I wasn't perfect in this instance but I know that I always had his best interest in mind. He on the other hand was wrapped up in him so much to where he really didn't genuinely care about most people he came by. It wasn't just me. He treated most like he did me (as if that eases the blow).

A true friend respects the love that the other one unleashes freely. Thus, he gives that same love right back. But when pride, vanity and selfishness kicks in-friendships go out the window. Things become awkward and misconstrued and one realizes that love has been set to the side.

So this blog is for all those that thought they had a best friend, but through time, pain, and circumstances, things changed. Thus, in the end, they lost a best friend. Keep your head up and thank God that it was revealed. And, affirm strongly that you will only invest time in people who really care about you. Settle for nothing less.

Understand Your Mind First

I came across a Pema Chodron clip on You Tube. She spoke of some very true facts. Most people start making adjustments to external phenomena, in order to bring some kind of "inner peace." Isn't it true? We eliminate, make additions, and adjust all of our worldly circumstances in the hopes that it will bring us what we want-happiness.

A classic example is money. Alot of us presume that a life with a significant amount of money can bring us happiness. However, money only solves financial problems. It does not cure personalities or character discrepancies.

Thus, we have to start working with our minds first. I agree 100 percent with this philosophy. Change the way you think and you will see that you can create your own happiness. There is no doubt that we might have to change our external phenomena.

You may need to find a new job since the current one is draining you. You might need to move. Perhaps your neighborhood is not healthy for you. But in the end, the mind is the fix to all pyschological glitches. Start there first and then clean house.

Biggie Smalls, 12 Years Later

It’s already been 12 years to the day since Christopher Wallace, AKA The Notorious B.I.G., had his life cut short by the assassin’s bullet. When I first heard the news back in 1997, I didn’t really believe it. His new album had just dropped, and it was curiously called “Life After Death.” I sincerely thought it was a publicity stunt until I saw footage of real people mourning in the streets of Brooklyn.

I was only 19 at the time, and BIG was 24. Nineteen year olds look up to 24 year olds. By the time I turned 24, I realized just how young Biggie was to have lived so fully and died. (Tupac Shakur was only 25 when he was gunned down.)

When I reflect on Biggie and Pac’s lives and deaths, I take 2 lessons away. First, they teach us that you are never too young to pursue your dreams. They had the chance to grab the fame and all that came with it, and they took it. They followed their dreams. They didn’t say, “I’m only 19. I can’t be a platinum millionaire. I can’t rock a crowd. I’m too young.” They paid the ultimate price, but in the end, it’s better to die doing what you were meant to do than to live and just take up space.

The second thing these hip-hop greats have taught me is that you’re never too young to have people looking up to you. Like I said, when I was 19, I looked up to 25 year olds. Now I’m in my 30s; 25 year olds come to me for advice, and many 19 year olds see me as more of a father-figure than a big brother. You ever see how a second grader looks up to the “big kids” in 8th grade? There’s always someone looking up to you

On this anniversary of BIG’s unfortunate demise, let’s remember the power to influence we all have. Follow someone who inspires you and more importantly, use your power and influence to truly make things better. You never know who is watching.

Permissibility: It's the hip hop way...

So hopefully you realize if you are married or have a girlfriend, the only way you could throw a party with 40 naked women wearing masquerade masks is in your dreams. However, in hip-hop, things as such are permissible.

I know, I know, Kanye keeps popping up in my blog real, but what can I say? He stays on the edge and in the press.

So yes, Rapbasement.com reported:
"Kanye and Beecroft previously worked together for Kanye's "808s & Heartbreak" release party that included 40 naked women with face masks and illuminating fluorescent lights." Hmm. Sounds like alot of fun. I just don't know if it's good or bad fun. I wonder what his girl thought? I wonder was she there? And in the words of Kanye, if she wasn't there "I wonder, do you know, what it means?

But then again, It's Kanye, a bonafide hip-hop don. He has the superhero strength to resist the bait of lust in moments like this. Out of his own mouth he said:

"I'm a star, how could I not shine

How many ladies in the house

How many ladies in the house without a spouse,
Something in your blouse got me feeling so aroused"

Well we know there were at least 40! How could you not be aroused? Can you imagine the 20 questions he got if his lady wasn't at the party when he got home? Would a reasonable man be faithful under such a predicament? In the end, charge that to the game. It's permissible in the world of hip-hop.

Amy Winehouse: The Disadvantages of the Fast Lane

Alright,
Honestly, I think Amy Winehouse's constance presence in the media is sad. Whats even more sad is her constant battle with drugs and violence. Yet again, Amy has been charged with assault for allegedly attacking a dancer/fan who simply wanted to take a picture with her. Amy, subsequently, turned herself in and was arrested. Her court date is March 17th (in London) for all those pulling for her.

Whats unfortunate is Amy recognizes she has a problem. It is fact that she has been in and out of rehab), but like many Americans, she's an addict.
In fact, she just came from a two month vacation in the Carribean with the intention to get her act together. From crack to rehab, her actions sway like a pendulum. And as much as I want to humor you, it's really not funny...

Moreover, Amy is old enough to know the effects of hard drugs like crack and her other weapons of choice. Here in America, we had no excuse. Even when we were little, it only took 11 seconds to figure it out. In America, the late 70's babies remember this commercial. To bad Amy lived overseas. Perhaps her life would have been totally different if she saw what her brain actually is doing when she hits that pipe.

Lil Kim: Dancing with the stars

Just wanted to let you know that Little Kim is opting to participate in the "Dancing with the Stars" network television program. I'm all for it. Here's some cool reasons why:

1. What better way to show off her plastic surgery.

2. She confesses, "When I was in prison, me and my girls use to watch it." That's fine Kim. My only fear is what do you and your girls do if you were aroused by what you saw? Please, no broom sticks.

3. Let me guess: You'll hit the show, get your notoriety back up, and then...Drop an album. I see it a mile away. Cool, just make sure it's hot or I'll be talking about it.

4. Don't they pay you to learn how to dance?

5. Kim admits she doesn't know how to dance like that- riding the pole and lap dances don't count. If she makes it, her future man will be overwhelmed when Kim can hold it down at a gentlemen's club and a formal dance event all in one night. Classic.

6. Lawrence Taylor will be on the show. So long as he is still free from his former cocain habit, he won't pulvarize her on the dance floor like his linebacking days (smooth off a line of coke) while attempting to do something fancy on the dance floor. That could mean more plastic surgery. Oh boy!

Diamonds Start as Coal-The 10% Advantage

It is very rare for a human beings' character to receive a "total makeover" overnight. After all, as human beings, we reap what we sow. All of our character, good or bad, is a composite of 1)How we were raised, 2)the decisions we make, 3)how we react to our decisions, and 4)how we react to various life circumstances sometimes out of our control. Therefore, it is safe say that one can not simply change overnight.

Moreover, I want to change. But it's overwhelming when I objectively look at it. I can be extremely selfish at times and lose all compassion for others in an instant. My pride often explodes like a brand new flavor from Starburst. Sometimes I'm so attached to insignificant factors in life, I don't even consider that I need to detach. How do I began to chip away at this toxic coal?

I'll tell you how. Little by little. Perfection comes in degrees and it's been proven. Think of how great athletes evolve. They normally initiate their career wanting to be the best but they soon realize they have more attributes to develop in order to change into the athlete they desire to be. There coach, having more experience and foreseeability, usually points out their faults and begins to show them how they can become better. The athlete then begins implementing new drills and practice routines that will make his current performance better. He chips away at his goal little by little until his performance reaches an apex. He just doesn't show up the next day to the gym an entirely different player.

The truth of the matter is it's down right easier and borderline ingenious. Bit by bit you begin to give 10% each day to something you want to change. Since it's only 10% percent, you don't feel the pressure as you normally would, as opposed to completely coming out of your cocoon in one day. As the Tibetan Master Sakyong Rinponche mentions, we begin to work with our positive qualities and become more familiar with them. This invokes a spirit of love that can be transmitted to others. Leaving Your Mark: If you don't do it, who will?

Last night, Mad Mardigan, founder of the only current hip-hop night in Tallahassee partied with us for possibly the last time. He's on his way to Kentucky for a permanent move. But he left his mark here and hip-hop artist in Tallahassee should be ever grateful to him for starting a local hip-hop movement.

Alot of people think making a mark has to be this illustrious demonstration of brilliance that rubs off on the people in their circle (or outside of their circle). But maybe we've complicated the idea of leaving a mark. If everyone looks out for their fellow brotherman/women, and truly shows compassion in their actions, does that not constitute leaving a mark?

Not everyone can be Michael Jordan, Barack Obama or Benjamin Franklin. However, the simple things in life are underated. Things like saying thank you, going the extra mile for someone, being noble and fair, being honest and just...can't we leave are mark this way?

Well if Mardigan can do it-so can you. Sometimes people who have conquored extraordinary feats cloud are judgement on our own being. Chogyam Trungpa, a late Tibetan Lama, states "When you hear of someone who possesses remarkable qualities, you regard him or her as a significant being and yourself as insignificant.The continual comparing and selecting generates a never-ending procession of desires." I concur with such a statment.

Essentially, we have to remove the pressure that we place on ourselves. I remember my dad would always tell me that if you don't surpass what I've done, you've failed. Perhaps he used it as a motivational tool, but it also can create a dangerous pyschological paradox in which one feels that they must either surpass the feats their parents accomplished or accept failure.

The fact is God gives us all that we need to be the best at who we are. When we point to someone else and say that's my hero, it infers that we lack something. The truth of the matter is we don't.

So today, make up your mind to make a mark. You have everything it takes to do so and it doesn't have to include breaking a record,making history or being famous. Start with your family, move your way to your friends, and even to your associates. Recognize your worth and continue to act in a manner that shows people their worth. I'll miss Mardigan, but he left his mark in this town. He will always be remembered by a select group of hip-hop artist in Tallahassee for revitalizing local hip-hop. Moreover, the way he treated us was just and fair. We've made making a mark to complicated. He made his and all he did was stay true to himself. We'll miss you Mardigan.

Politically Ignorant? Vote Obama!

Many African-American historians will tell you that Obama is not the first black president. Send me a comment if you need help researching that fact. But, it's nothing wrong with having cultural pride for your own peeps. At the same time, change in the white house is not limited to color or race. Therefore, the fact that Obama is a "black" man will have no significant bearing on him being an effective president.

Some African-Americans voted for Obama simply because of his skin color and I know many blogs have addressed this fact. Many of the young urban youth, for example, were more in tune with Obama's personality than where he stood on political issues. At anyrate, changing America's state of disparity is what we really should be concerned with. Furthermore, one thing that Barack promised was change.

It didn't take a genious to realize that this would mean revamping American politics by kicking out old concepts, and implementing more efficient policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Considering the overall theme that Barack upheld, I'm going to let many voters slide who had no idea where he stood on significant political issues. Why? Because the better man is in office now!
Our people in Los Angeles were estatic about Obama's win. On face value, some didn't look to informed-but it's all good!!

Repentance, Balling, Pimping, and Rap: How does it Work?

Of course my eyes were searching for one YouTube clip that would initiate this week's blog in the right spirit. As you can see by the title, I have something special for you.

The urban world of Hip-Hop is forever growing, changing, and pulling more "youngins" in everday. Unfortunately, the Hip-Hop culture has become so influential, that without wholesome parenting, today's youth often can be lured into the dark world of balling, pimping, and drug trafficking. After all, most of your top ten Billboards hits in Hip-Hop deal directly with these topics.

Moreover, it is rare to see one who is not a member of the Christian Rap genre state boldly, "Jesus Save my Soul." Indeed I have found an emcee that is clearly (atleast according to the lyrics) still embracing a life of sin. Upon watching it, one feels as if they are listening to the wacky Christian Rap that I blogged previously. Not so. This brother is pimpin on 24's, and even will "smack a hoe" to get his point across. Notice, while speaking to God, you here alot of "You know I had to..."

There is a thin line between confession and repentance. We can learn an even deeper lesson from this demonstration. One thing that I give this brother is that he is in tune with who he is. Doesn't that count for something? How can one change if they are in denial of their faults or their inherent nature. In other words, for this gentleman, half the battle is won. Repentance in short is:
"to feel such sorrow for sin or fault as to be disposed to change one's life for the better; be penitent."

The problem with Mr. Save My Soul is that I don't sense much sorrow. That same sorrow should be used to help one change and walk a straight path. Okay-enough of the serious talk. Watch this and don't feel bad if you laugh your but off. It's okay-it's hard to take him serious.

Six Reasons why Lil Wayne is the Best Emcee

) He's been on lean (codine and Hawaiian Punch) for 9 years. In addition he's a "weekly prescriber."

2) Baby and Slim think he's better than all the other emcees in North America.

3) Even he admits, "If I fail I'll quite and go back to the block. Man, can you imagine me going back to the block with a royalty check? I'm serious." This is a blatant indication of his humility.

4)He realizes he is the best and encourages all to have his mind set. This includes even if you are the best at "nothing."

5)He's so street. He agrees, that he has goons in his squad that thrive off of smacking people. Even if they lose the fight, as longs as one of them smacks them first,that's all that matters to the people.

6) In 07, when he was asked was Trina his girl, he responded: "Yeah, that's my girl she...yeah...she gives good head." This certifies that he is a suitable role model for all his middle school fans.

Tom Green: The Comedian turned Emcee

Okay,
We already heard of Joaquin Phoenix's push to become an emcee. We already know that he can not rap. But what about Tom Green? If I told you Tom Green battled Xzibit, would you believe me? In addition, if I told you that I could listen to Tom Green's rhyme skills and not be disgusted, I know you probably wouldn't believe me. After all, I am a tough critic.

But while watching this clip, I couldn't help but think that Tom Green must have been a emcee in a past life! Grant it, maybe I'm bouncing of the contrast of Phoenix's stupidity (see in my previous blogs) but Tom actually sounds decent. Moreover, some of his rhymes sounded written.

Even X to the Z was caught off guard! All he could do is laugh.

Classic indeed!

R&B Duets: A Dying Breed of What Use to be Classic Music

So you're beginning to get an idea of how my mind perceives music. A song has to stay fresh, innovative, and on the edge to be considered a classic (not forgetting great songwriting). This is why 20 years later after your favorite oldie but goodie was released, you still rock out to it like it was just came out.

So what in the world happened to classic R&B duets? Is it a dying breed? I surely think it's on the edge of fading fast. There are five factors that led me to this conclusion:

1. Today's songwriting, generally speaking, has depreciated tremendously. One of the main reasons duets were so powerful and fun can be attributed to the depth of lyrics. Lyrics were passionate, and were sung with the same intensity that they were written in. I can't say the same for today's lyrics.

2. Today's production lacks contrast. It's not that producers aren't banging out great tracks. Moreso, when you hear a great track, there are four to five other tracks in rotation that mimic your tune. One could argue the same thing in the 80's. That's not a fair argument. We all know that every hit producer in the 80's used the same keyboard with that reverb snare and that airy kick.

3. You knew this was coming. Most of the artist today lack genuine talent. Lets be real. Would you rather hear James Ingram and Anita Baker, or Keysha Cole and Monica (yes they have a duet)? What tune do you think will be closer to a classic?

4. Hip-Hop has better duets than R&B. Now you're going to say that two people on a hip-hop track doesn't constitute a duet. I looked up the "technical" definition for the word duet. A duet is a composition for two voices or two instruments. That's pretty simple. That also means that if I had to choose between Chris Brown and Rihanna ( unfortunately a battered "Umbrella"), or AZ and Nas-the latter wins.

5. You just don't have classic, dynamic duos anymore. James Ingram next to anyone on a track created a Batman and Robin chemistry. Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson had their run. Ashford and Simpson sung like it always was there last song. Babyface and Mariah Carey created a classic. I would try to compare it to modern vocalist but it wouldn't wreak classic. Yes, maybe a good song, but not a classic.

Christian Rap: The Highs and Lows of a Growing Genre.

Okay,
So I left Christianity about seven years ago. I'll reserve my reasons for another blog, but I will say that I did do a little Christian rhyming in my hay day. It felt weird at times however. Maybe I was to introspective, but at that time, I thought doing Christian rap would be a great way to pull non-believers in the fold. But in hindsight, when I was a Christian, I didn't listen to Christian rap at all. Ironically, I listened to good ole, standard hip-hop. Why?

Well, for one, no non-believer in Christ wants to be preached to (for the most part) about their hideous ways. In addition, no one wants to hear affirmation of them going to hell because of the booze, blunts, and premarital sex (common sins that are mentioned in Christian Hip-Hop). After all, Even Christians have premarital sex, and engage in sinful activities everyday. So no, as I rolled down the avenue in my hay day, I didn't enjoy hooks like "Christ is the only way, He will save the day, you got to pave that road and he will make away." I'm not hating-I'm just saying. Exhibit A:

In contrast, wouldn't it be better to to listen to Christian rap without being bombarded with the "Get your act together, Christ is coming" mentality? Some hip-hop listeners are open to Christ in fact, but some of these emcee's can push you away from Christianity with their super religious and over zealous approach.

I propose that Christian emcee's should write their rhymes as if they were building a relationship with a non-believer. The problem is alot of them right their rhymes as if they are submitting it to their pastor. If you've ever been a Christian, you know that the typical non-believer does not want to be apprehended with "your going to hell if you don't change," and "Jesus is waiting for you...etc." The only way to convince people of the truth of your belief in Christ (speaking to the emcee's) is to live the life. This transcends your music.

Therefore, you don't have to mention religious terms every line. You are to simply encourage your fellow Christians, and more importantly, trying to reach those who are not of the same mind! Talk to them when you rhyme. That means your hip-hop shouldn't be to far removed from worldly hip-hop. I'm not saying Christian emcees should sound like 50 cent by far. I'm just sayin when I hear songs like the previous You Tube clip- I turn the dial. Why? Because how will the non-believer relate to you if you present yourself as a saint (and we all know you're not). He on the other hand is caught up in quicksand. The emcee is on the edge of the bank and instead of just helping you-he asks: "Are you ready to accept Jesus? Otherwise you might as well go head and sink." Doesn't seem right does it? The next exhibit demonstrates the direction of where Christian Hip-Hop should go. It's more effective and can impact more people.

Murs Gets on Rick Ross

We (Planet Zoron)had the privilege of opening up for Mur's last year in Tallahassee, Florida. Some of the other performers were Chaun Don, Big Pooh, and Kidz in the Hall. What was supposed to be an hour set turned into a 20 minute set since Murs wanted us off the stage. I personally felt he was intimidated by a hip-hop band.

At anyrate, apparently Rick Ross 1)jacked one of Murs beats and 2)called his name out at the beginning of the song. Murs didn't take it to lightly. But how does that happen? Both artists are signed to major labels. How does Rick end up jacking Murs beat. Copywright infringement? I doubted. In addition, I heard another one of Murs beats on Beanie Siegel's last release. What concerns me is when Murs says "How did he find it?" (in reference to the track). What do you mean-How did he find it? It's your 1st single off your latest album ("Can it Be"on the Murs for President Album). Here's some footage of him rocking his lead single live:

Okay-the Moral of the story is when you have a hard working team of music business managers, you shouldn't have to worry about a top 20 billboard act releasing a single with your lead singles beat. Notice on the Gang Related song in the beginning a voice saying: "This is a coast to coast instrumental." What this probably means is that a producer sold Murs a beat for little of nothing. The producer probably took a cut for the exposure (well worthed). However, the producer probably didn't designate on the contract that the track was exclusively for Murs. If he did, he could be in legal trouble. If he didn't, that was silly on Mur's business manager's behalf. I wouldn't get mad at the artist-get mad at the producer who leaked it or your manager that failed to execute and exclusive contract with the producer. Tighten up Murs.

Kanye West: Rapper turned singer (Not Really)

The problem with releasing an album in which a rapper turns into a singer is when you can't actually sing. I took the time to to see how Kanye's promotional push for his latest release was going. We all know he can't sing and I was curious to see how his voice was panning while performing live.

One thing that is evident is that Kanye knows he can't sing and many wonder why he dropped an album that featured his voice paired with the autotune software (makes it sound like T-Payne) on every track. Never the less, there is something ingenious about this last release and it definitely opened up a new market for him. However, you got to admit-it's funny to watch him try to sing.

Pay attention to the first hook. When he says "down"...you got to laugh. By the last hook, his voice is calling 911. David Letterman's response:"Whoa Buddy!"

And of course, you need to see both spectrums of the pole. So, it's only right that I show you Kanye without the vocoder. This is proof that he knows he can't sing. But one thing I'll give him-He's ripping the mic!

Somebody must have told him that he was stinking up the hook. Why do I say that? Because on Good Morning America, he lets the hook run off the cd-barely singing over top:

You can get mad at the man. Fine. Just when you thought you heard enough of the "T-Payne" sound, Kanye added even more to the collection. However, it takes humility to get on the stage, as a international superstar (10 grammies and counting) and yoddle like the Gap Band on crack. I'm impressed Kanye.

Hip-Hop, Poker, Groupies and Balling

Okay,
I, being a lover of the game of poker, was intrigued by Jim Jones and Cheri Dennis facing off in a game of Texas Hold em. There are several factors that stand out me while watching this clip:

1) Jim Jones is living up to the expectation of a baller. He's so ready to spend his money, that he bets before the turn even drops.

2)Whats hip-hop without a groupie? Yes, Cheri Dennis emphatically takes on the role of a groupie. Jones did a song with her so why wouldn't she be down to hop in the hot tub with him?

3)Yes Cheri, it's evident that you didn't win the game on your intelligience. You were "Preserving your sexy" the whole time. Thats what groupies do right? They use there sexuality to get what they want...

4) Could we not have another women like Latifah, Sistah Souljah, or Bahamadia to balance out the perception of African-American women in hip-hop? Of course not. In fact the only women qualified to sit at that table would be Little Kim, Fantasia, Remi Ma, and the likes.

5)Have you ever seen this kind of conduct in professional poker? Jim Jones metamorphisized the table into a hot tub just for Cheri. If it got any hotter, you would have to tell everyone to get up so they could play strip poker.

6)Jim Jones played a horrible game of poker. Ironically, it correlates to the perception of a baller. He's raised the pot $1000 on the turn and another $500 on the river-but is bluffing the whole time. He actually has nothing-but whats $1500 to a baller? Isn't that considered petty cash in their world?

7) Jim get his head cracked with triple 7's. Isn't that a holy number?

8) Cheri stepped in the hot tub only to find out that Jim's game was all talk. That's like talking your game up and when the moment arrives-it's a quickie.

9)Cheri had the whole table shook-apparently the water was to hot for all the players. Way to use your sexyness to make dough. Just don't go to the hotel party with them after the game.

10) Maybe its all entertainment-doubted though.

Joaquin Phoenix and Hip-Hop? I Smell Trouble!

Just when you thought hip-hop had revealed all its demons, possibly another one is on its way out the closet. Joaquin Phoenix, a premier hollywood actor (Gladiator, Walk the Line), was spotted on January 19th rocking the mic at club Lavo in Vegas. He apparently dropped three tracks, and I had the honor of listening to the first track. If you know how sensitive my ears are, you would know that it was no need to continue to listen to Phoenix.

In addition, yes, we do have Times Online.com admitting that Phoenix is working on a hip-hop project, and this is coming out of the horses mouth:

“My experience afterward was I had a lot of dudes come up and say, `We really respect you for doing it, putting yourself out there, and going with it.' Because I think true hip-hop heads know that it's hard, it's going to be a hard transition, and people are going to be lining up just to make fun of me."

My discrepancy is that the YouTube video clearly shows that Phoenix is not a rapper. In fact after his performance, he tripped and fell off the stage. And as much as I like to admit that I love Phoenix as an actor, so far, his music sucks.

Meanwhile, I'm more curious with why so many people want to rap and feel that they are competent to represent the art form. Aren't there enough rappers out there already? I meet young and grown folks alike that swear they have the hot skillz. Phoenix exemplifies my point. However, people that aren't passionate or are simply incompetent only bring degradation to any art form.

In the Times Online.com article, Phoenix admits that most people will not take him seriously. In fact, the article's main thesis is that Phoenix is serious though many will ridicule him. I personally think that Phoenix's album at your local music dealer goes to show how far hip-hop has deviated from it's original theme. With our luck (true hip-hop fans), Phoenix's album may take off, go gold, and then we'll see Russell Crowe, Ben Afleck, Denzel Washington, and Al Pacino all release albums (give me a break).

A Few Things About the Hip-Hop Industry.

1)It seems that newbies to the industry have no respect for the men/women who have been doing it while they were in middle school. Even lately, I meet cats that are my age but started rhyming, managing, producing...since 05. They don't realize that experience does count. For me, it's cool to be able to observe it go down in this fashion. Sometimes you have to just see it to believe it.

2) In the end, your product is all you have. If you have flash, have money, have women, and all the other b.s...you BETTER have a dope cd. Why? Because it may look good, but it doesn't sound good. I get tons of demo disc-every year. The problem-1) no brand...random music with no swag 2) "heard it all before" 3) you have literally just wrote your name on a blank disc with a sharpie...and put it in a slim case?

3) To much 8 mile! Is it not clashing of the titans to a degree? Huge egos meeting for the overall betterment of hip-hop. Yet, all these individuals are grown men/women. Just because one disagrees doesn't make it beef or a war.

Business will always be business and great business men are the weirdos whose crazy plan actually worked. Can't you just feel the haters when Russell signed RUN DMC, and LL COOL J, BEASTIE BOYS..etc.? Bottom line, I bet he had major haters, yet he saw past there folly. He stayed focused, and now his business is sought after by citizens and companies alike all around the world.

If we were more unified in thought, all of us could eat off hip-hop, but what are the chances?
